I ordered a computer for $1132.00 to get me setup in a home business in Autocad. They sent me an e-mail that said my order had shipped and would take 7-10 business days to arrive. Today, Jan.30, 2015, is the 10th business day.
Prior to today I would go to the link that was given me to see if there was an update to the status. The link worked but no update. Today the link is no longer working. I tried emailing and the email was returned.
I paid for this item w/a CC,but through amazon.com. Funny thing was, I recieved a call from an "agent" of theirs to find out if I wanted to make this large purchase. I missed the call so I called back. He was out, so I left a message. Within the next minute, the person who had called before; called me back. He informed me that the giftcard could only be used at their site or through one of their businesses. I asked about zoppel.com and he sent the charge through. wtf???
In summary, do not order from this site (which is already shutdown)!
Yes, zoppels.com is a ripoff. Make sure you look at the spelling. there is another website called zopples which is not asscociated as far as I can tell. I ordered two 80" Vizio TVs for a total of $3898.00. I did not receive the TVs. I had received emails from them verifying that they had received full payment, another one saying my order was proceesing and another saying my order had been shipped. After waiting past the time of their stated delivery date I emailed them find out where they might be. There was no response after three attemps. Yesterday, 1/29/2015, I tried to log into my account on their website, and found that it had been taken down and was redirected to godaddy.com where they had that domain name for sale. I then tried to email zoppels again and mailer daemon returned them to me saying that It was no longer a valid email address. Their method of payment as described by others was by paying them with Amazon Gift Cards. Let me make one thing perfectly clear Amazon.com is in no way associted with these scammers. Paying this way prevents the purchaser from from filing a fraud report with the credit card companies, because Amazon delivers the gift cards via email and then the purchaser forwards them to zoppels. If any website asks you to pay with gift cards don't make the mistake I made. Don't do it! I've reported this incident to the FBI, but I don't have much confidence that these scammers will be caught, and I'm definitely not getting any money back.
This site offers THOUSANDS of items for sale at very attractive prices. The site requires that you purchase an AMAZON GIFT CARD to pay for your purchase. There is no other accepted payment method. This site was still active as of yesterday (1/26/15). Once you have completed the payment transaction they go completely silent. No response to emails. I have reported the scam to Amazon.com. Amazon tells me they have NO FRAUD unit to handle these types of complaints so don't look for much help from them. They did, however, explain to me how my gift card was actually used and for what it was used. I, of course, received nothing from this company in the way of merchandise. I do have a name, address and phone number which I will provide to Police/FBI. So please know that these people have gone to great lengths to make this deal look legit. I suspect there is very big money involved. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SITE. If you are a victim, contact your local PD to file a report and don't let your embarrassment stop you. We all make mistakes!
I placed an order with Zoppels two weeks ago for a LCD monitor. I had my doubts about the site, but after reading a lot of reviews on consumer circle (which I've discoverd are all fakes) I decided to buy from them. After paying the company, I recieved a confirmation email, and the status changed to "shipping soon" but my item never arrived. When I tried to call the number was disconnected (and doesn't even appear on their site anymore) and they have never responded to a single email I've sent.
Amazon has confirmed to me that this is indeed a complex scam. Hopefullly anyone reading this will think twice before purchasing from Zoppels.com
