In March of 2013 I purchased a used Ladies Rolex watch for $840.00 through an eBay auction. The watch was rec'd and the face was a bit smaller than I like or wanted. So I requested a refund and was told no refund was avaialble. I proceeded to point out that in the ad it was clearly stated Return Policy: Buyer's Choice of refund or replacement within 14 days. I returned the watch in the same condition i rec'd.
We agreed to a replacement watch with a slightly larger face. I emailed and checked in with her every few weeks to check on the status of the replacement, I was sent photos of watches that were not the same or comparable. After almost 6 months of this she finally agreed to a refund.
I was charged a re-stocking fee and postage (I paid approx. $20.00 for the return of the watch via insured registered mail) of $148.00. I rec'd my check after days of excuses about surgey etc. So ultimately it cost me $168.00 for nothing.
I think charging me $148.00 after we agreed to work this out and I gave her almost 6 months to locate a watch is a HUGE rip-off. She had my money and the watch for months.
Do not do business with someone who rips you off. I worked with her for almost 6 months and the re-stocking fee was not mentioned. It is her policy, she did not say that she would charge me if she could not find a replacement. I could see if she had refunded my money right away, but I waited for almost 6 months for a watch.
I guess she found a away to charge money for watches and basically sell them twice.
