DO NOT WORK HERE. There are many trucking companies to avoid, and this is one of them. ZERO TRANSPORT LLC (Korey Walper, CEO) provides its trucks and drivers to Tri-State Expedited who dispatches the trucks. The drivers are employees of Zero Transport LLC. Each week, Zero Transport charges the driver's net pay $25 with the notation of "Truck Escrow". The driver will never receive this money, and the practice is nothing more than a theft of money owed to the driver.

After I told them I wanted to quit, I received a text message from 1-517-442-4514 (Korey Walper's assistant, Heather) as follows, "After you deliver in Indiana today you are to come to Zero Transport office 1152 Church St Adrian MI 49221". Then my final pay contained a $100 (nice round number) deduction for unauthorized deadheading. I never deadheaded anywhere without authorization.

In fact, we were paid nothing for deadheading to pick up a load, and that amounted to about 1/3 of our miles. As a team, we were paid $0.40 per loaded mile ($0.20 each) and nothing for travel to pick-up loads. The nature of expedited services is that about 1/3 of all miles are for pick-up. If we drove 6,000 miles in a week, we each would be paid about $800 which is $0.20 per loaded mile (4,000 loaded and 2,000 empty). That would be an excellent week. We usually earned much less.

The company stole $225 from me. That is too small to pursue except by writing this report. Michigan will not pursue money for out of state workers, but they did contact the company to force them to provide my payroll stub as that is required by Michigan law. $125 was stolen by deducting it for an Escrow Account (Korey's pocket) and $100 for fictitious unauthorized deadheading (also Korey's pocket). The payroll stub does not itemize by trip. It makes it very difficult to verify that you are beinbg paid for every trip or to be sure the mileage figure is valid.
