Kirk Landefeld contacted my company for an estimate for replacing the windows in his commercial property located at 2215 Bristol Ave. Grand Rapids Mi. 616 291-1203. Kirk Landefeld liked the windows that were the least expensive. He was so impressed with the price of the windows and the installation that he agreed to the terms and conditions of the contract. He gave me an $800 down payment, let the 3 day rescisson period pass, I then remeasured the custom size, ordered the windows that he purchased.
Day of scheduled installation. Installation was going exactly as planned untill Mr. Landefeld's tenant started making comments about the new windows and that she was not happy with the window style or the quality of the windows. She stated to me that she was the person paying the balance and she was not happy with Mr. Landefeld's purchase and she was not paying me the remaining balance for the new windows. All windows were completly installed and ready for trim.
Mr. Landefeld was not present during the time of the install and after calling him repeatedly he finally answered and I explained the situation to him. He stated" Why didn't you show the windows to her before you installed them?"
Mr. Landefeld had never introduced me to his tenant, never advised me to get this persons approval, she was not on my contract.
Mr. Landefeld was givin a contract that came with a brochure about the windows and my contract clearly stated exactly what he was buying. With all of the options, performance ratings, quality specifications. The windows I sell, service and install are custom manufactured by a global leader in the remodeling/building materials industry and have lead the way for over 65 years and is also an energy star awarded partner.
I now beleive Mr Landefeld had every intentions of ripping me off.
