Got automatic message saying IRS was calling and not to ignore call. I doubted the call was from IRS because and did reverse look up and it came back YMAS Oration and not IRS.
Same fact pattern as all other individuals on this board. Being an accountant I told the person I was amused by the call and that I know the IRS would never contact me to initiate an audit via a phone call....Really? Are you serious?? I also told him that I looked forward to the letter from the IRS with all of the facts presented (in his garbled accent) so I could get an additional laugh. He had nothing to say and I hung up. Its too bad these folks can't get real jobs.
Got a call from 202-241-7037. Stated he was IRS and looking for my wife. I informed him to send a letter and he stated that they (IRS) had and my wife was ignoring them. I stated to him that he was a scam and then he started with the nasty language and then I could not help myself but to reply to him in the same fashion. Needless to say he has called back twice and the things that he wants to do to my wife. WOW. Please report these call to consumer affairs.
I also received a voice message from the computer automated Agent Julie Smith with the IRS from (202) 241-8959. I filed a complaint with the FTC like someone else recommended. (www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov). Tried calling Agent Julie Smith back. It rang twice then gave me a busy signal.
Got phone call from above named IRS officer-threatened to take legal if action if I ignored phone call-then said to call back and to have a nice day!!!!!! When you hear from the IRS , you know it"s them and they don"t have to make threats to get your attention. Needless to say, you know if you have issues with them and to use "IRS" to intimidate people is really evil for citizens who are not aware of this.
YMAX Oration posed as Deprtof Legal Affairs regarding a US Treasury matter
Area Code:509, Carrier:Ymax, Oration Full Number:1-509-723-0991 City/State:Spokane, WA
Indian accented man named; "Steve Martin" called and said he was from the Dept of Legal Affairs regarding a US Treasury legal matter that he wanted to protect us from. The voicemail was insistent we call him back at the above number. How can these people not be found and prosecuted for fraud???
We got a call from the same guy, except his # was (650) 690-8836 in Palo Alto, CA. You may also want to report your incident on the website ftc.gov/complaint.
I was called around 8 am by an automated caller stating it was the IRS and not to ignore the call. It gave me a name and number to call them back immediately. I called the number and the person at the other end stated they were from the IRS and asked for my phone number. After asking for the name of an attorney to represent me, they said I owed back taxes and they'd tried to contact me twice, but the letter had been returned. As a result, they were going to call the sheriff and have me arrested.
I use Turbo Tax and have always entered the correct amounts in all columns. For me to owe over $6,600 I would have had to miss over $30,000 in income. There was no way it could be a legitimate call. I asked them what address they'd sent the letter to and they gave me my last residence which was sold last year. I've filed from my current residence the last 2 years and the real IRS would have my correct address.
I called a friend who is an attorney and he said it sounded like a scam, so I used Reverse Phone Lookup on the internet and instead of the number coming from the IRS, it came from Ymax Oration Landline in Beltsville, MD. The phone number used was (202) 506-9529. I did not send any money or give any personal information to the person on the other end of the line.
Ymax Oration posed as US Treasury Dept of Legal Affair
I received a call from a guy said that he's calling from US Treasury Dept of Legal Affair. I asked his returning phone no. and the no. is 323-786-9814. I searched this no. found out that's a landline phone belongs to a company called Ymax Oration in LA. I searched this Ymax Oration company again and found out this company involve in a lot of phone scams.
"Crimimimal Investigation Division" calling with warant
Just got a call from "Jim Aurthur" (heavily accented, perhaps Hispanic?) at the "Criminal Investigation Division", "Federal Badge #0876" with an outstanding warrant for my wife. Only the FBI has a "Criminal Investigation Division". We were requested to call 202-241-2811.
Called the local FBI office instead. They, of course, knew nothing about it and said that something like this would be by mail in any case, never over the telephone. The whitepages.com look up of the number showed "Ymax Oration" in Washington, DC. So, someone is impersonating an FBI agent and appears to be using MagicJack (an internet phone service). I left info with the FBI and FTC.
The FBI should subpena MagicJack's records and i.d. the physical IP address that made the call. Then lock them up.
Just musing...we watch our elected officials in congress on Cspan... usually semi enlightening...is it at all possible, and practical for them to spend an idle moment mentioning their awareness of this less than high grade scam to the TV viewers?.... and going so far, perhaps to offer or allocate a few dollars to shut this operation down?
Got the same call that they send to everybody. I did not answer. Instead I called back and got a girl who sounded like a hindu who said she was from the IRS & I owed back taxes. I said I could not understand her and I wanted to speak to an AMERICAN. She then said that the police will be coming to arrest me. Maybe the Kenyan should go after them instead of the TEA Party. God Bless AMERICA. D.M.
PS It is a shame that some people do believe this crap and send them money.
I got many phone calls from (202) 241-1631 in Washington DC.
"Kelly Parker" (eastern India accent) was the agent to contact from the Crime Investigation Department of Treasury Inspector General of Tax Administrations. I was told that I was being investigated and I had a warrant (they even gave a warrant number as reference) based on my name and physical address. I got scared... I'm a single mother of 2, and couldn't fathom what this could be about. I them reverse phone number look up the number and saw the Ymax Oration from DC. I then typed in that name and found A WHOLE bunch of scams this entity has been doing!!!
I called back and got an answering machine which sounded like the lady that called me, I left her the best number to contact me....and then proceeded to give them the number to my police department.
Elderly, Poor, Rich, Naive, Single Parents.... People be aware! Research !!!
The number he left was (562) 361-8926, which WhitePages.com says is from Ymax Oration in Compton, CA. His English was terrible and he spoke with a South Asian (e.g., Indian, Pakistani) accent.
Received a call today. Caller had a **very** thick accent, very difficult to understand, but from what I could determine, I was "In Big Trouble", and the authorities were about to break down my door and subject me to all sorts of horrible punitive actions if I didn't call them back immediatly. Call originated from 323-952-7670, Ymax Oration Landline. Reverse lookup places them in LA.
Just as a BTW: I didn't call back, and so far, no negative results : )
Got a call from the federal investigation and got the same thing everyone else did, I was told I was going to have a warrant put out for my arrest and that cash net USA was charging me with something, they never said what, I told him I'd never dealt with cash net USA and hung up. Called cash net USA and reported what happened. Got some information on their process and called the number back and cussed the guy out LITERALLY. He told me if I think it's bullshit to get a good lawyer and show up in court. I asked him what courthouse he said you'll find out when I get the subpoena.
Cline Maxwell called us and left a message asking us to call him back and if we did decide to call him back to have our lawyercall him because we were having legal actions taking against us.
The phone number he gave us 909-562-1768 belongs to
Received a call from foreign accented man claiming to be with the Lousiana Sheriffs. He said I was being sued because a company named USA Fast Cash Advance had put a $5,400.00 loan into my bank account and then could not collect payment. Said that the local Sheriff office had been contacted. He had my personal email address and social security number...but no other information other than the City is call went to. I told him I had never done business with any company by that name nor any cash of that amount to my account. He said I could settle by sending $704.00. I told him if he wanted his ....... hung out to dry go ahead and sue. I hung up and had my phone service track the call. Guess what? Not a company or group named Lousiana Sheriffs but Ymax Oration. What a flimsy rip-off attempt.
Received an automated call from (202)241-8564. Caller claims to be Paul White and he's calling to advise me about a lawsuit the IRS is filing against me. Recording says I need to call this number back for more info. When I call, I get Paul White's voice mail.
I was contacted by daniel smith who stated that he was from the irs and there was a legal case against me. he asked if i knew about the case and i stated no. he said he would transfer me to his supervisor who would explain the case to me. the supervisor came on the phone and stated his name as jack marshall and said he was a federal agent with the irs. he started to say that there was a legal case against me and that the call was being recorded. he proceed to state my name and tried to get personal information but i told him it was a scam and hung up. the company called back to back several times. another employee at the company informed him that this was a business phone that he was calling and he hung up. i hope that others do not get caught up with this company they are a total ripoff Ymax Oration landline 347-979-9315.
I received a call last night and this morning from what should have been 911. This is ridiculous to be calling or trying to call from an emergency number. Indian speaking guy telling me that there is 4 counts of fraud against me and I need to call another number and speak to Henry Wilson from the District Attorney's office. He mentioned if I didn't call, they would slap me with another charge and would be arrested in 30 minutes. Also told me that I had to pay $1,000 in order to obtain the District Attorney's phone number from the state I live in (like I could not obtain that number myself, really).? lol So, they are are now still calling me from a 911 number. I am reporting these calls to (911) and perhaps they can further investigate. I am so glad everyone is posting their experience, citizens need to know what is going on. To make the long story short, I told the guy on the phone that his mother owed me money from last night : ) That shut him up and since, I haven't received any more phone calls.
So, is this their site too and they are just laughing and learning from these reviews?
How many phone numbers can one scam outfit have?
Got the call 11/2/14 from 425.298.9721 in Kirkland, Wa. Automated message from Dept of IRS threatening lawsuit and to call back. Curiously called back but got message phone.
Called and stated that I had income tax due from 2010. Asked for a credit card or bank account number and that if I did not pay, the sheriff would right over to arrest me.
I received a message from "The Treasury Dept." that I had a package. When I called back, they had to look up my file, and call me back. I researched this number WHILE I was waiting. I was so stupid to even call them back. I am waiting for the return call. If they call back, I will give them a piece of my mind---what's left of it.
I just got my return call, and I won a sweepstakes worth $250,000. I only have to pay taxes on it, yeah right. When I asked the lady, who could barely speak English, where she was calling from, she dodged the question. I also told her I read that Ymax Oration was notorious for scams, she acted as if she knew nothing about it. Needless to say, I was cut off.
But in order to have it deposited into my account they needed $295 for application process. That I needed to purchase a green got prepaid card and call he back to give he the numbers on the back of it , so that they can release the funds into my account. Yeah right, still waiting for the deposit.
Left multiple messages for me and even called my relatives stating they were from the "Department of Legal Affairs" and that they would have to pursue legal action if I ignored the phonecall. I know that something like this would come by mail and not phone so did reverse look up and found the ph# associated with a land line in Eugene, OR under the name of YMAX Oration. Not sure who to report this to.
I was called and left a recording style voicemail for a Julie SMith with the IRS office stating that is was an urgent matter and if i didn't call back i was going to jail for up to 5 years.
I called back of course, and someone who didn't speak very good english was trying to tell me i have afederal warant out for my arrest and iwas going to jail for tax fraud and unpaid taxes. i asked if i had been mailed any notices as i have not received any and the man asked me to stop playing games and to not make him a fool. i asked him to tell me the address as they had my name and other information as i got scared as i am a single mother of two. i asked more in delh questions and the man put his "supervisor" on the line, afer they told me an address from 6 ears ago they hung up on me.
Beware this as i think ruly that it was away to obtain informaion to get identiy info or worse from honest people.
I received a similar call, from our local area code. When I returned the call, the National Weather service recording answered and gave the forecast for our state capital. So I decided to reverse search the number and ended up on this website. If they call back I will answer and feed their lies right back to them. I think it may be entertaining to make them believe that they have reached someone other than me...maybe someone who actually "belongs" to the agency they are posing as being from!!
Got new phone Friday. They, 202-239-0710, have called twice. At the bottom of the missed call, it tells me where it's from. I figured hey, it's almost that time of the year, probably politicians. The second time they called, today, I decided to reverse lookup. Came to Ymax Oration, got led to this site. Read most of the reviews on here. You would think magicJack would hear about this and do something about it, but no. Thankfully they can't leave me annoying messages because I have no voicemail! Thanks for these other reviews. Will remember this site for the other numbers.
Received call from Jonathan Keller from the Federal Trade Commission asking us to callback his claims department regarding a certified check. His number 562-295-6373 refers to Ymax Oration in California. They call us every day, even if I tell them to stop. Is there anything I can do?
Received call from 202-241-7398, saying I had debt fruad pending. I told him I could not understand him. He had a very hard accent and there was alot of noise in the background. Finally hung up on him and looked up the phone number using reverse directory and Ymax Oration Landline came up. I know I am clean with the IRS so this had to be a scam, it still upset my wife. The IRS will send you a letter and contact you legitimately, and they will not threaten you.
Someone from ymax called to say they were Kevin Williams of the State police and that there was a lawsuit against me and I better contact some attorney at 850-725-2385 or I was gonna be arrested in 30 minutes. Total bullshit!!!
I got a call a while ago from a guy saying that he was from the cable company, that he had an order to put a filter on my cable box because there was some unauthorized use, that someone had ordered adult movies. I know for a fact that this is not true because I live alone. When I asked him what company he worked for, he kept giving me the run around. He said he didn't want to get anyone in trouble. He said that the fees were non-refundable and that the movies were charged at $9.00 each. I told him that I thought that was a fraud and that it was impossible to order movies because I did not have that option, then I hung up on him. I did a reverse number look-up and it came up as Ymax Oration. That does not sound like a cable company to me.
Caller identified as a Louisville Gas & Electric representative who was making the call to let us know that our electricity was being cut off due to lack of payment. Requested phone payment immediately with credit card. Left local number 502-276-1545. When I called the number back to verify, the person became verbally abusive and sexually graphic when confronted about the call as a scam artist at work.
Received multiple calls from 202-241-2611 said I owed back taxes like the others listed above me. Threatened me with attorney and lawsuit. They did have my address correct though, but when I said I never received letters and that I would be happy to have their attorney contact me, he hung up. They are obviously not from IRS if they are using a Ymax Oration landline. Sad that some people may fall for this nonsense. But also a bit scary how easily someone can access our personal information.
... had the same thing happen to me... phone number (202) 241-0921...said he was from IRS investigations. He made up some name but I couldn't understand it through the heavy middle-eastern accent. He wanted me to get on a cell phone and wire money to a paypal account. I asked him what my SSN was, seems to me the IRS would know that. He said he could not give that information out. I told him where to go and hung up. Once in a while just for fun I call the number back to give those scammers a piece of my mind. I told one of them to come to my house personally and we could talk about it. I'd like to see what one of them looks like with a swollen face and no teeth.
Got a phone call from 336-295-2251at 9:30 on a Saturday morning. Ignored it because caller ID said "unknown." They left no message, but called back immediately. I picked up and asked him to stop calling. He identified me by name and I confirmed - no big deal; it's a listed number. He then asked for a woman whose name I had never heard. Told me that he knew she was there and he would continue to call until I put her on the phone. Never told me what the call was about, but I assumed it was a debt collector calling the wrong number. Still not sure about that. I hung up. Idiots then proceeded to call me 47 times in the next two hours, always hanging up when the machine answers. Still not sure what their game is, but these people take harassment to a criminal level.
On 05/03/2014 at 7:43pm, a caller from the number (336)295-2251 called my cell phone and had asked for someone else. I began to tell them that I wasn't that person and they had the wrong phone number. They still called my number over and over again for a few days until I finally answered to get more information from them, they wouldn't speak to me and I could only hear background noise, so I hung up the phone. They continued to call my phone after that. I finally decided to look up the number on the internet to figure out who this person or people are. The name came up as Ymax Oration, a company in Moticello, NC close to Reidsville, NC. I decided from there that maybe I needed to report them for harassing me and others that maybe being harassed as well. I hope that this can put a stop to this immature behavior that is affecting many others.
I just got a phone call from 1-202-239-2028 and a person with broken English and the very common name Andy Brown treatened me with warrant for tax invasion. He did not provide any information even though I asked for any details about this warrant. Moreover, he said I need to make an affidavit and that they are recording the conversation and the records will go directly to Homeland Security. The guy got nervous when I said I am recoding the conversation too and that I am going to call the police and IRS to check his credentials; then, he hang on me.
I guess, he would want me to pay something over the phone which would I never do. Folks, be careful out there!

IRS Scam Ymax Oration in Compton, CA
I got the call described here:

Yes. Folks....its a SCAM : )

Call originated from 323-952-7670, Ymax Oration Landline. Reverse lookup places them in LA.
Just as a BTW: I didn't call back, and so far, no negative results : )
federal investigation scam

Fraud phone Call
To make the long story short, I told the guy on the phone that his mother owed me money from last night : ) That shut him up and since, I haven't received any more phone calls.
man called by the name William White. Dept. of Treasury Legal Affairs. threatening my wife with legal action if she doesn't return phone call.
How Do They Keep Doing This
So, is this their site too and they are just laughing and learning from these reviews?
How many phone numbers can one scam outfit have?
Got the call 11/2/14 from 425.298.9721 in Kirkland, Wa. Automated message from Dept of IRS threatening lawsuit and to call back. Curiously called back but got message phone.
I received 2 messages on my answering machine tonight from an Officer Edward Johnson with the Federal Investigation Dept
saying they received a legal complaint against my name and my physical address. I was to call them back at their hotline
202-241-7798 immediately or I would face legal trouble re:my case file. They threatened to take legal steps against my
name if I didnt call them back. I am sorry, but it took me at least a dozen times of listening to this man's messages before I
could totaly understand what he was saying because his English was so poor and broken. I googled 411 and did a reverse
look up for the number he left and found out this is a company called YMax in Washington DC and then happened upon your
link and now see that this is a scam used to scare the elderly out of their money. BEWARE people!!!!
How do they get cell numbers?
They called me yesterday about a contest I won. I hung up, but they have called back.
Called and stated that I had income tax due from 2010. Asked for a credit card or bank account number and that if I did not pay, the sheriff would right over to arrest me.
Treasury dept. with a package for me.
Masked as a local number.
A scam is a scam is a scam
Got new phone Friday. They, 202-239-0710, have called twice. At the bottom of the missed call, it tells me where it's from. I figured hey, it's almost that time of the year, probably politicians. The second time they called, today, I decided to reverse lookup. Came to Ymax Oration, got led to this site. Read most of the reviews on here. You would think magicJack would hear about this and do something about it, but no. Thankfully they can't leave me annoying messages because I have no voicemail! Thanks for these other reviews. Will remember this site for the other numbers.
Treasury Dept.
The song retains the name....
Different Depts. and different scripts. I googled the # and found this site.
I'll start ignoring it immediately.
Scam
Received call from Jonathan Keller from the Federal Trade Commission asking us to callback his claims department regarding a certified check. His number 562-295-6373 refers to Ymax Oration in California. They call us every day, even if I tell them to stop. Is there anything I can do?
Ymax Oration phone number poses as IRS agent
Received call from 202-241-7398, saying I had debt fruad pending. I told him I could not understand him. He had a very hard accent and there was alot of noise in the background. Finally hung up on him and looked up the phone number using reverse directory and Ymax Oration Landline came up. I know I am clean with the IRS so this had to be a scam, it still upset my wife. The IRS will send you a letter and contact you legitimately, and they will not threaten you.
Be careful with these crooks...
Threatening a lawsuit.
posed as Publishers clearing house
I got a call today that with reverse phone look up is Ymax Oration in NY -
Posing as a state police officer
Someone from ymax called to say they were Kevin Williams of the State police and that there was a lawsuit against me and I better contact some attorney at 850-725-2385 or I was gonna be arrested in 30 minutes. Total bullshit!!!
tony
I will sue you for mental harassment for saying you were my father who passed away 8 years ago !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cable Network??? (816) 455-3571 Ymax Oration
This is local number here in the Lou, Ky area.
IRS scam
Received multiple calls from 202-241-2611 said I owed back taxes like the others listed above me. Threatened me with attorney and lawsuit. They did have my address correct though, but when I said I never received letters and that I would be happy to have their attorney contact me, he hung up. They are obviously not from IRS if they are using a Ymax Oration landline. Sad that some people may fall for this nonsense. But also a bit scary how easily someone can access our personal information.
IRS Scam
... had the same thing happen to me... phone number (202) 241-0921...said he was from IRS investigations.
Criminal harassment
Thank you.
