Claim they are a collection agency and also that they are serving legal papers. State theGiotto my name and number off legal documents. When I stated it was a scam I was told listen b**** we have a warrant for you. You will be arrested. Told them I am setting here waiting. No one showed. Then called back stating I owe a bill for something I never owned.
Today is the second time I received a phone call at 5 AM in the morining with a foreign accented man, barely understanding what he is saying. Especially when you are worken up out of a sound sleep! Then they are repeating a phone number you need to remember and don't forget to have your lawyer call immediately! What???? What lawyers are in their office 5 AM in the morning. Plus, I don't owe any money to anyone! How do I stop these phone calls? And there is no way to opt out from receiving them. I did call this number back (301-534-2216) it rang once and then hung up.
I had recently applied online for a cash loan. Now the site I applied to sent me many different offers from legitimate cash loan companies and I ended up getting a loan. However I still received phone calls for other offers. I answered a 713-370-5316 number and a foreign sounding guy tried to get me to accept a loan with his company. Wanring bells went off because of the Houston area code, lots of scammers in Houston, and then the guy asked me to "pay a loan insurance fee" Before I could get a loan by his company. I did a reversve number look up while he was on the phone and found this site. I said no and hung up on him. If anybody asks you to pay them so they can GIVE you money it's a scam!!
My husband received a phone call from someone stating they were from excel energy. They stated they had not received last month's bill and that our service at our business would be disconnected by close at 4:30pm. My husband panicked as we own a restaurant and the thought of not having power on a friday night freaked him out. Eventhough our bank statement stated that the money had been withdrawn from our account, the person on the phone said that it was still pending. He suggested that my husband do a money transfer for half the amount to keep the lights on until monday morning then the matter could be dealt with and his money refunded. He rushed to do the money transfer and then discovered that he had been scammed. All we have to track these criminals is a bogus number from ymax communications.
