Don't trust WorldWide Internships! I was looking into finding an internship abroad. During my research, I found WorldWide Internships. Their reviews were positive, there were no real red flags, and they claimed that they were risk free. Being risk free is the furthest thing from the truth. Their refund policy only works in their own favor and does not take the wishes of the participant into consideration at all.
I had paid my enrollment fee, which was approximately 500 USD thinking this investment would be safe with the risk free claim. I was told that the money was completely refundable. However, I wanted to pull out of the program early because another opportunity had presented itself. After continuous arguments through emails (that's if they responded), they refused to give me my money back saying that it was out of their hands. According to them, the only condition in which they would refund my money was if they couldn't place me with an internship within three months.
I don't think that condition is risk free at all! Under a risk free claim, my investment should be protected under any and all conditions. Plus, if you ask for a specific city, they won't let you turn down an offer if it's in a different city. If I am paying for a service and a placement in a specific place, and you don't give me what I want, then what am I paying you for? Their end of the deal was not completed.
Their solution to the problem was that they would put the enrollment fee on hold for a year. I don't know where I will be within a year's time so I don't understand how they think that is helpful. They lull people into a false sense of security with their risk free claim and keep your money if something happens on your end. Their refund policy makes it completely impossible for you to get your money back. Their risk free claim is false advertising.
If you are uncomfortable with not applying to other options while you wait on them for three months, then WorldWide Internships is not for you. That's what they expect you to do. Put your life on hold until they find something for you. If not, you'll be spending your time sending countless emails when another opportunity beats them to the punch. On top of that, they will give you every excuse in the book to not give you your money back. Don't be fooled by their tricks!

What you are telling me here, is that you decided to cancel the program.
And thats why you did not receive a refund, otherwise, do you think that the will be able to provide you an internship or not?
