I had a tail light out, so I was pulled over by these "cops". They ended up sticking me with OVER $1,000 in FINES!! Then they gave me less than 30 days to pay it. Wanaa know an extra funny tid bit of information... I AM A COP! AND WAS IN UNIFORM!!! My father is an officer, needless to say, I have a profound respect and love for our law enforcement and military. This whole town is just a joke.
I later found out from a friend (who is the captain of the police department in a neighboring city), that the entire town has their grass cut for free and guess who pays it.... That's right, the ticket fines pay for it! What a joke. If you compare the fine prices for each offense, with ANY other parish in Louisiana, these are OUTRAGEOUS!
The town is run solely by family members of the elected officials. I called multiple times to make some payment arrangements or anything that would let them know that I would like to take care of this or if there was anyone I could talk to. When they finally did answer after literal weeks, the lady on the phone was SO rude and told me that I could pay it in full that day or they would issue warrants for my arrest the following Monday, and said that there was no one that would speak to me and my only option was to pay it and then simply hung up on me.
I am just absolutely revolted by the pure and complete scam that is being ran by this town.
People need to know about this. I am a believer in being part of the solution. Speak up and speak out people! I know it isn't just me.
