The following is a letter explaining the type of Fraud and misrepresentation I have experienced with Wireless Advocates.
I made a complaint to Costco explaining that they have a vendor that is useing bait and switch methods of advertising. I wanted to notify Costco that they may want to independently resaerch this company. I suggested that the shear numbers of complaints may suggest to Costco that they may want to use another vendor for their on line phone sales. It turns out they just refer the case to Wireless Advocates. Like this company will investigate complaints on itseld. Shame on you Costco!
Wireless Advocates offered a Black Friday / Cyber Monday Deal for $150.00 rebate on a AT&T IPhone 6 with 128 Gb. I figured that it was pretty good as I was in the market for an I phone 6 and this rebate was going to give me a 128GB for the cost of a 64 GB.. It was not a burning desire to have so much memory but what the heck it was a deal.
I checked their button for upgrade eligability and it told me I was eligable. I stayed on the AT&T phone add and ordered it.
God the pain began. I never received a receipt during or after the transaction explaining that I was going to get a $150.00 rebate. In fact no mention of the rebate on my receipt. I began to get suspicious after the deal. They have told me on my various phone calls that I must have been mistaken and saw the Verizon add. Nope. I would have received the Verizon phone. I received the AT&T phone. Turns out one of their employees actually admitted that I was correct they did offer a $150.00 rebate on the AT&T phone but it was an upgraded survice. Nope. That was disputed by a supervisor and she told me thay would "speak with te employee!"
Then I received my wireless bill. Holy Smoke. They Fraudently activated a spare line that I have as it was eligable for an upgrade and supposedely sent another IPhone 6. Nope. Just Fraud. They have people that access your account and see that it has a line or wo eligible for upgrade and pass the illegial information on to a pal who must receive the IPHone 6 then sell it o the black market.
It took me forever to unscramble the mess with AT&T. I doo see that others have expereinced the same B.S.
Bottom Line .. Go to your Carrier or Apple and do the deal with them. Save yourself the headache.
Shame on you Costco! No way to reach you for a complaint or a heads up that you have a sleazy vendor!
Our trip to costco/wireless advocates started September 21, 2014. Victor was to order 4 iphones. 2 of the phones were to arriving on October 3, 1 on October 17 and the other on October 24. We started this processes at 3:30 and the first contract printed out at 16:15:52PDT the last contract Printed 16:50:55. But there were errors and problems. Just by placing the order they changed our contract. so we where paying for data even though the current phones we had didn't do data. So we tried till past closing to get it fixed and in the end they told us to go to the verizon store. I went back the next day and told them that they should spend the time to fix it because they were the ones to mess it up. On Friday the 26 of September we were given new printed contacts to sign and started the process again. I had been in the store 3 times trying to get the order corrected. What a waste of time. The only bright side to this story comes now. We received 3 Phones on October 3. As of today Oct 28th I am still out 1 Phone. My verizon bill is charging for data even though the Phone I use doesn't do data. And Verizon shows the Phone shipped out Fed EX on Oct 23, 2014. and was signed for on October 27, 2014 by Costco / Wireless Advocates in Seattle/Auburn Washington. I have spent a number of hours trying to locate the phone. Costco/wireless advocate associates say we get the phones when we get the phones. They won't call and check on them and they say they can't look at our verizon account and fix any of the errors they made to our account by placing the order. They told us to go to Verizon. I received a $10 discount on the phone and a car mount but the time I spent was worth well over the added benifits that costco claims to give. Never again will I buy my phone from Costco/Wireless advocates. My recommendation to anyone wanting toby thru costco/wireless advocates; Don't do it. Go directly to the carrier.
Bought a Samsung S5 on black Friday, november 28th, 2014 with forms that would give a $100 rebate. I frrwarded all of the information including copy of the receipt to the address specified on the forms.
Never received anything from them. Everything was done exactly as they asked.
This certainly is a black mark for Costco and buying from the kiosks that sell the phones.
