I purchases a new fifth wheel from Windish Rv. I was charged $399.00 for dealer prep. This I was told was for detailing the unit, making sure everything works and cleaning. When I got my unit home, what if found is that absolutely nothing had been cleaned, it was a mess off dirt, staples, saw dust and remnant of building materials all over the floors, upper surfaces and inside all the cabinets and the basement area. Nothing had been cleaned.
No dealer prep was done as to the functionality of anything on the unit. I found a hole in one slide out carpet, the globe on the ceiling fan was missing and the black water control valve was broken. What I got for my $399.00 was a glorified exterior wash. I was sold a unit that was none operational and damaged.
Upon contacting the General manager I was told what a great job they do and a tap dance around all the issues, but refused to take responsibility for the damage and a statement that the $399.00 is now a handling charge not a dealer prep charge. To date all they have offered to do is get a new globe sent to me.The simple facts are that Windish RV never inspected the unit prior to sale, did no "dealer prep" totally ripped me off and then turn their backs on the entire issue. I want my $399.00 refunded. The unit has sat for 3 weeks at a service center waiting to be repaired. My advise to is to use some other dealership other than Windish.
