This guy is insane. I hired Bill to do some work for me. He fixed one problem but created another one that caused my office to slow to a crawl for 3 days. He finally fixed the issue he caused. I paid him in full via Paypal but he was unhappy that Paypal took a cut so he tried to charge me 3% more. I held my ground and insisted on using Paypal for buyers protecton and let him know I was unhappy with the service. At this point he threatened to remove the router he sold me and in the process shut down my phones and computers.
I told him to leave me alone and had to put my office staff on alert that some crazy dude might stop by the office and yank out the networking equipment. Instead he accessed my network without authorization and changed the router password and locked me out.
Now I'm frightened about what sensitive files he might steal or damage he may do. I shut my network off each night out of fear that he might hack in.I'm sure he will respond to this review with his side of the story but the bottom line I was an unhappy customer who paid in full and have been locked out of the hardware I bought.
Be careful if you hire this guy. I don't trust him at all.
Update:
After Bill sold me a high priced router that did not solve my problem I went on Amazon and got a cheap $130 router. I secured my network from Bills hacking by uninstalling his $1000 Sonicwall router, I installed my new $130 router, and everything has been working flawlessly since then.
I also have a day in small claims court with Bill coming up. Stay tuned to see the outcome. Perhaps Bill will do the right thing and offer my a full refund, take his router back, and reimbursed me for the addition expenses I incurred fixing the problems he created. I really would like to resolve this issue with him outside of court but he has left me no options and keeps failing to respond to any of my request.
Interesting enough I had my process server show up at his address today. Turns out Bill's store front is a rented mailbox in Bob's Quality Butcher Shoppe. Stay Classy Bill.
Update 2:
Bill of LaComputerBuddy and I have very different views of the service he provided and the job he did.
I say he did bad work and made my network worse than before. He says he did a wonderful job.
However all opinions are made irrelevant when a judge in a court if law makes a decision. The judge decided that I won and entered a judgment against Bill Curran of LaComputerBuddy.
So go back and read our stories and versions of what happened knowing that a judge decided in my favor. That should let you know who is telling the truth in these reviews.
Now the waiting game begins to see if Bill will comply with the court ordered judgement and pay up or if he will appeal the judgment and make me do this again.
Update 3:
Bill is up to his games. After losing in court and refusing to pay the court ordered judgement I have had to take him back to court to try and get my refund.
My court date was set April 3rd 2014. However it looks like at the last moment Bill is playing games and trying to delay the court date.
You would think that a court of law telling him to refund my money would be enough. However I guess some people just never get the message....
