I'm an investor in rental homes in the south east US. I found that the local "ugly houses" people were unlike any other real estate professionals I've worked with. Others in this business have told me the same. One "Ugly Houses" agent tried to sell me a house that they did not own yet and that could not be connected to city services (I was not told that material fact). Others have the same business model - while in the closing process on a distressed home they begin advertising and trying to sell it for a tidy profit before closing on the property. I wonder if they do not sell it by closing, if they extend the closing date for a long time. That is possible in NC...
When you add no value to a home, don't even remove garbage from inside the home, then sell it at nice profit, you are little more than a parasite on our nations economy. I'm guessing that what they do is legal but I'm convinced it is predatory, bad for the real estate business in our state, and bad for the economy of our country (add no value but inflate house costs - bad). Don't deal with these guys, unless you enjoy walking in mine fields.
My wife and me wanted to move to Alabama. We had a house in the Richmond, VA area. We had a house where the A/c needing fixing and painting on inside and shed. We just wanted the pay off the house. If ac was fixed and painted the house would be easy sell for someone. So we saw webuyuglyhouses.com on website site. We watch the video. It said no need to fix the repairs . we buy the house as is.we paid cash offer. So we call a guy name Robert and him partner came look at house and they wanted to buy the house. They had a guy that could fix ac for 450.00 and so we yes but they wanted us to paid to fix ac not like in video but we wanted to sell house fast so we said yes. They brought contract over and said we want to do assumable loan so we thought they was going to take the rest of loan and pay it off. So we agree .5 weeks later the house was going close and the lawyer explain to her that they didn't want to buy the house but take over payments and but we still own the house and if they went Bankruptcy . we would have to finished paying for the house..They just wanted to take over the payment but not the mortgage. They misled us and the video is fraud. They use the word buy in video and we you just take over payments and not mortgage. That's not buying. If someone else comes this website says that I am saying is miss understaining. They are lying !!!They are cooks!!!!! I am going file a a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
