Two guys approach me in newer model SUV. I do not recall the model. A good looking guy who talks swiftly sells me a VIVID TECHNOLOGIES Retina-X 4KI projector and an Acousitc Fidelity AX.600 40 inch LED tv. He claimed he was delivering these somewhere and had an extra projector and TV. I wasn't interested as it seemed like the stuff may be hot. The man reassured me and even produced a receipt from the company Concept Audio Visual. After a bit of haggling I purchased both for $600 cash that I had on me.
I take the products home and come to learn the VIVID TECHNOLOGIES Retina-X 4KI projector is of extremely low quality. I would guess the resolution is only VGA and not high definition and definitely not 4K. The Acoustic Fidelity AX.600 TV was not even a tv but was only a speaker set. The way the box is designed is to look like it is a flat screen with a huge picture of a flat screen on it. The seller told me it was a TV and that was a bold faced lie.
After doing some research this appears to be a part of the nationwide white van speaker scam. I found countless stories online with all sorts of brands. Aparently they keep changing the brands so people cannot research them online. I remembered the name Concept Audio Visual and through the use of google led me to this company:
https://panjiva.com/Concept-Audio-Visual/10301510
You can even see the invoices and the companies in China which are all a part of this scam. The projectors are extemely low quality marketed with an MSRP of thousands of dollars and the speakers are sold as flat screen TV's in flat box which are actually speakers. This is pure fraud and I will be contacting the attorney general to file a complaint.
Buyer Beware. I should have not trusted a stranger now I am out $600 cash.
Did the same today. Two men in a grey Toyota 4 runner convinced me to buy this projector or the TV. If you are perusing this further I will gladly help out.
