I was the first librarian hired to start what became a wonderful library collection by this company (not a school) in Lubbock, Texas. I failed to listen to the negative reviews of this company. What I witnessed was appalling. There is no organization. Everyone back stabs each other. There is no professionalism. There is a very high turnover. The entire scope of this company is to get prospective students in the door, retain them, and get them to financial aid. I witnessed a negative work environment in which all feared for their jobs. Despite doing the best I could as the librarian, they felt that I might cause them to lose accreditation, and therefore was wrongfully attacked and found my job posted online. They only kept me long enough to find my replacement. There was no warning or reason for firing me. Since my time they've lost at least one other librarian. I've never worked for such corrupt people and feel sorry for the students who will not find jobs and be heavily in debt to astronomical student loans. Anyone working for this messed up company is at risk. Management is solely the problem. From someone on the inside, I can attest that the only interest for Virginia College (ECA) is money. They don't care about either employee or student.
I am currently a student in the Respiratory Therapy program at Virgina College in Birmingham,Al. The program is not worth the debt that i have occurred while attending this school. The students do not get the proper education or training that is needed to pass state boards. The quote from all of the instructors is "you are responsible for learning the material on your own because we do not have enough time to go over everything".
I was not notified once I enrolled into the school that the credits were not accredited and non-transferrable to the local community colleges or universities. After a year into the program, I realized that the school was horrible and the program was not respected, I wanted to transfer. At that moment I found out I would have to start completely over. I was already in a vast amount of debt because of the student loans I aquired throughout the duration of the program.
We are only allowed to go to a few clinical sites because of the bad reputation of the school, therefore jobs are limited because those facilities will not hire Virgina College students/graduates. The college is also charging for room and board and does not offer either one.
The entire school as well as the instructors are fraudulent!!! I hope this reaches someone who has the power to stop them!
I'm a recent retired US.Army veteran. I'm attending Virginia College in Savannah Ga. for network technician. This school is clearly all about money. They make up these ridiculous classes to keep money coming in to the school. They have these classes called EDU 1010 communication exploration and EDU 1020 career exploration. These classes have no bearing on what you come to the school for.
The tell you that they can help you get a job. That is so false I recently found my own job without the school's help. They make you take a test to get in the school its called EDU 100, if you pass that test they tell you can go to your program. Which is totally false. The dean of the school came back to the program director and said that all new students have to take the EDU 1010 class. This class is for someone that just came out of highschool. They have all this book work asking you about your experiences and if you give your thoughts according to the book its wrong.
This school is clearly all about making money. I'm glad im almost done because clearly this was a big mistake attending this school. My next step is to report this school to the Department of Veterans Affairs to investigate what the school curriculum is.
Virginia college is keeping me from what I want the most, and education! Something they can not provide! I attended this school long enough to receive 12 college credits, none of which will transfer to another college. I left at the end of my second semester, not receiving any credits for that semester. After deciding attend another college, Virginia College refuses to send my transcript due to a hold on my account. After some serious detective work attempting to figure out exactly what I owed this college. The amount "owed" was in fact the amount the remainder of the program would have cost me. Here I am working 50 hours a week living pay check to pay check unable to attend school because I refuse to pay for an education I did not receive, not that I would have if I had chose to attend the full program due to the fact that the teaching staff is incompitant and completely incapable of preparing one to be a nurse. I wouldn't recommend them to pump gas at a local gas station....too many number you understand. I am in the process of handling this rediculous situation but I warn anyone out there. Do not attend this college!!! Their sweet innocent personalities hide the money hungry beasts that lie within that God awful facility.
