I purchased an online background check from verifypeers.com on Aug 24, 2014 for $1.99. The company has been charging my credit card $99 per month for 8 months for a total of $792.I only used the service once and they are claiming that I entered into an agreement which I didn't mean to(very small print and very deceiving )
Unfortunately, I was dissatisfied for the following reason(s):
Deceptive practices and will not refund.
To resolve the problem, I would like the following to take place:
I purchased a one-time service to check my information and they secretly charged my credit card a monthly subscription fee without my knowledge. They provide no refunds over the phone.

Yes, I had the same problem. I was willing to pay the 1.99 for the research, but was oblivious to the 99.00 fine print which was integrated into the get report check mark box. Several weeks later my bank was debited the 99.00 which I was unaware of with no email of their intentions. As everyone else stated, the company was reluctant to refund the 99.00, stating that there was a no refund policy and hoping that you would obviously not pursue it. "No refund policy that you are unaware of." Very deceptive!
I, too, have been a victim of Verify Peers.com. At no time was I advised of the "automatic sign-up" and I did read the fine print. When I called to get my money back, it took three calls to find out who I was calling (thanks to my bank who had the info in my acct.). The first number I called (datasearch; 1-877-221-6230) was a nice young girl named Marian, Rep. ID #3281 who advised me of my non-rights but gave me another number to call. This was verifypeers at 1-877-906-8461. The woman I finally spoke to was rude and harsh and hung up one me. There was no offer of even a partial refund even though I live on a fixed income and can ill afford $9 much less $99. If there is anything that can be done to these people I would love to know of it.
Verifypeers.com advertises background check services with an introductory rate of $1.99 but fails to adequately advertise their exhorbitant, regular rate of $99.00 per month, which can only be found in the mouse print of the "terms of agreement".
This deceptive and unethical practice is compounded by the fact that they have a "no refund" policy, also found in the mouse type of the "terms of agreement" section. This page does not automatically load correctly in some web browsers, so, when you accept their introductory offer, you will become "hooked" into their legaleze trap to steal your money.
You can cancel at any time, but, you will not be getting your money back, as per their "policy".
In my particular case, they did offer to refund half of the money that they had removed from my account, but, theft is still theft, and, as such, is highly unethical and possibly illegal. I do not know what the laws are regarding this kind of scam in the State of Arizona, but, I am in the process of researching possible criminal prosecution of Verifypeers.com for their actions.
You should be very wary of any company that has non-loadable web pages, mouse type legaleze, and other devious methods to defraud you when dealing online. If it sounds like a very good deal, it is probably a scam.
I know that Verifypeers.com is.
You should definately steer clear of Verifypeers.com, as, there are many other reputable firms out there that offer the same or better services for far less money than Verifypeers.com does.
I will update this posting as legal actions proceed against Verifypeers.com.
