On January 19, 2014 at 2:00 PM I took my 2007 Hyundia Santa Fe in to Valvoline Instant Oil Change located at 1350 Latta Road for an Oil Change. Fifteen minutes earlier I had the oil levels checked while I had my gas tanked filled at a Full Service Kwik Fill Gas Station where the attendant told me the levels were fine but recommended getting my oil changed as it was dirty. Thus my trip down the road to Valvoline, where the nightmare began.
On the ride home my car started making all kinds of noises and I was afraid I would not make it home safely. The next morning I had to have it towed to the dealer where I bought it, Fuccillo Hundai. The mechanic there notified me the engine was blown due to there not being a drop of oil in it. There was a crack in the oil pan and the mechanic went on the say that with the size of the crack, I would not have been able to drive one mile. How could there be no oil if I just had an oil change?
Brandon the District Manager made all kinds of excuses and denied responsibility of course because that is what Valvoline does best. This place needs to be shut down.
My car was running perfectly fine before going to Valvoline. They refuse to take responsibility. The cost for a new engine is $5,162.
I intend to pursue legal action. I am also contacting the NYS Attorney General's Office.
