My boyfriend booked a vacation through a company associated with Vacation village who offered us multiple false promises regarding plane tickets, excursions, etc., as well as left out other costs such as cruise fees for fuel, staff, and needing to pay taxes on pretty much everything. The buy one get one half off plane ticket promised was never followed through, the swimming with the dolphins promised in the end was taken back. When asked if they could listen to the phone recording where all this was promised, they said they delete them after 6 months. The vacation village presentation was a nightmare. We were told the presentation would be 90 minutes. This was AFTER breakfast, and did not include going to see the resorts and the time talking about costs, talking to the manager, and then one last person, each of whom offered a lower price every time we said no. This first presentation was in Fort Lauderdale. Then, we traveled to Orlando, where we were told we HAD to go to another presentation, or else we would get a bill for our hotel costs. We asked 2 people what would happen if we didn't show up since we had already attended the presentation in Fort Lauderdale, and they both said we'd be charged for the hotel. We asked how long the presentation was, and they said 90 minutes after breakfast. My b/f got this on recording on his phone so that nobody could argue.
At the Orlando presentation, the woman tried taking us to breakfast right away, and I asked how long it would take b/c we were on a schedule for our day, and we were told the presentation would be 90 minutes after breakfast. She said she could not promise we would be out after that time period, because she cannot guarantee how long the speaker will talk for...!!! That's when we became agitated, we outright said we were not interested, had already attended the other presentation for 5 hours (when initially told it would be a 90 min. presentation), and will not be buying. I added my boyfriend had one of the staff members on a recording stating the presentation would be 90 minutes. Since they didn't even have a manager there yet (it was about 8:30AM), another staff member spoke with us and said it was not necessary to attend this presentation since we had already attended the other. He said by not attending this one, we just wouldn't get the trip to Las Vegas, but our hotel for this trip would still be covered. MORE TIME WASTED DUE TO LIES. Everyone told us a different story, and we found out the marketing companies get reimbursed more money if people attend more than one presentation, which is probably why they told us we HAD to go! Also, had we gotten the Vegas trip, we wouldn't have taken it since there probably would have been another timeshare presentation to go to there and a bunch of other bullshit to ruin your vacation. They do not tell you all of this as well as all the extra fees. We in the end probably didn't save anything by booking through this company... If we did save any money, the time wasted with them was NOT worth it! Just glad we did not buy after reading some horrible reviews regarding RCI and Vacation Village. There are other details as well that I didn't have time to write in this review. STAY AWAY!
