All the appropriate renewal passport application forms, etc. were filled out and mailed by me but to the wrong address (Philadelphia) due to an error from the DS-82 instructions. I contacted US Passport Now by telephone to apply for a refund since the passport application was sent to a government office and US Passport Now hadn't done anything and was told my $129 would not be refunded. What a ripoff; do not use these folks for passport applications.
US Passport Now (US Passport Services LLC.) makes their website look like an official government website and will trick consumers into thinking that they are dealing with an official website.
They charged me $129.00 and then asked me to sign a document allowing them to represent me. That's when I realize that they were not an official passport website. I immediately called back to cancel my transaction. "Andrea" picked up and said that she couldn't cancel the amount because I requested the service. "Sir, you selected the expedited option."
I told her I was fooled into thinking the company was the official passport website because it popped up top on a google search when I searched for "us passport".
She then said she could cancel $79 but not the $50 that I agreed to pay for "processing fee". I told her there was no processing fee. I am calling 5 minutes after I made the transaction.
She refused to refund the amount.
I asked for her ID# and she said that all she could give me is her name, "Andrea". I asked for her manager and she said she doesn't have one. She stated that she reports to the owner and he doesn't take calls.
When I told her that I will call my credit card company to cancel the charge, she played the victim card and started accusing me of "threatening" her. My response: "I'm calling my credit card company. Why is that a threat to you? I have to call them when a company refuses to refund me money for services I don't want and they never delivered."
What company out there refuses to refund you a charge after they have delivered no service? What company has service reps but no manager? This company sounds very shady. Avoid at all cost.
