Received a phone call this morning, but to start it off, my phone number is a private, unlisted number, and this person knew my number and my name.
He called me from 253-205-0739 stating that I was getting a $10,000 grant from the US Treasury Grant Department and I needed to call his manager back with my ID# at 360-967-4473 to get the details and I could either have the money in cash or on a visa card. I chose cash. He told me it could be done via Western Union since they didn't want to get any banking information or personal information from me. Needless to say, I automatically thought it was too good to be tru, so I was skeptical about it in the first place. I started doing some checking on the phone numbers.
I didn't find anything. I made the call back anbd didn't get an answer. That seemed funny to me. I waited and called back and finally got a message, so I left a message. I got a call back, but the phone rang once and they hung up. I called the number back. The person didn't like that my number didn't come up for them. They asked me to call back so it would show up, so I did. I gave Mike Olsen, Ext.#562, my ID# and he started checking into things and put me on hold for a second time and after a few minutes, I just hung up. I didn't receive a call back from them at all today, which made me think about it being more of a scam anyway.
I found this site and it confirmed my suspicions about it all. These people are liars! Stay away from them! Do Your Homework First! I'm glad I didn't hear anymore because I got fooled once a long time ago and it cost me over $400. It won't happen again if there is anything I can do about it! If it's gonna cost me anything, I just won't have anything to do with it and I will make sure that I will notify my back of any possible issues that may arise because of it so that I can avoid it from the start! I just spoke to my husband and he stated that he spoke with them for a few seconds last night and they hung up on him after they told him that he was approved for the grant! What a Joke!
