Urban Home are complete crooks. I purchases a rug for my apartment. The rug just completely fell apart leaving the shag all over my apartment, my place was a mess, it was badly made and just suitable for the trash can.
The product was returned to the shop and i was treated as if it was my fault.Their policies are disgraceful,No refund offered, no store credit not even an apology for their faulty goods. The rug remains in their store.
Do yourself a bug favor and stay away from these shysters.
I purchased a $538.92 dining room set from Urban ""Defective Furniture"" Home online. The delivery and set up fee was $139.00. The delivery guys came 1 hour and 15 minutes late.
The dining room set was carried off the truck already assembled with no packaging or bubble wrap. All 4 chairs wobbled (very unsafe). As a matter of fact, their chairs in their showroom in Arcadia and West Los Angeles wobbled as well.
I gave Urban ""DEFECTIVE FURNITURE"" Home the benefit of the doubt and figured that perhaps the assembled chairs in their showroom were just lacking proper assembly so I was surprised that the chairs that were delivered to my home were wobbley as well.
I asked the delivery guys to take the defective dining room set back and they refused. I was told to return the defective furniture back to their Arcadia locaton myself which I did the very same day the defective furniture was delivered.
I was expecting to get my $538.92 returned to my debt card, However, it was decided by General Manager Nicolas whom happens to be too busy to talk to customers, that I would be charged for the delivery and 20% restocking fee.
This is a total rip off. The defective dining room set was returned same day and I have yet to get the $535.92 back.
Urban ""Defective Furniture"" Home has extremely poor customer service as well as defective, poor quality furniture. I spoke with Gabby, Alex and Mayra as well as several other customer service representatives all were very unhelpful. I will never ever give this company my business again. I hope they do the right thing and refund the entire amount.
I picked up the table on Sunday 4/6/14. a friend came with me with his truck. the table was wrapped in cardboard and plastic. When I got it home and we unwrapped it we found scratches on the table that have pealed the enamel off and 3 big holes (I have a witness and pictures).
I contacted the main office sent them pictures of the damaged table. they said because I signed my name that means I inspected the item. And that was not what I was told by the warehouse guy. I asked him what the signature was for and he said it was to release it to me (if he has said it was an inspection signature, I would have inspected it and would have never brought it home).
they offered an exchange or 40 dollars off! they said because I signed for it to bad. I told them that is not acceptable to me! they wont even work with me to make it better. what I really want is a full refund or half off the table.couple days later I wrote a really bad review on YELP. And than was contatacted by a lady from Urban home named Carly B.this was her response in a private messageThank you for shopping at Urban Home! I'm deeply sorry to hear that your shopping experience was not the best. Our policies are to have all of our customers sign off on an inspection release form; it is their right to inspect it at that time before taking the purchase home.
I'd like to extend a $50 store credit to you because of this issue. Or, if you are unhappy with your purchase, you can return it for a full refund. again I did sign that paper but that was not what I was told! And told her I would keep the table if she took $100 off or I would like a rerund if they would come pick up the very heavy table. they said NO. I don't think I am asking to much!
