Upside Prepaid Card/ Meta Bank has horrible policies and procedures. I am in the process of moving and I utlizie this bank to store money outside of using my Credit Union. So I called Upside to make them aware of my move and was told that I would need to send a copy of my drivers license, SOCIAL SECURITY CARD, and a Utility Bill. I found this to be a bit much considering I did not have to supply this information when I opened the card, she advised that they need to make sure I am who I say I am even though I just answered several question ensuring my information. Well I did not feel comfortable providing this information via fax considering I have been a victim of identity theft before so I asked to speak to a supervisior to see if there was something else I could do to update my address. I was advised that a supervisor will call me back in 4 hours well 24 hours later I get a call from a very rude and combative representative claming she was a supervisor by the name of Nicole she advised if I wanted to update my address that the information stated before would be required my response to her was if she needed all that information how can she secure my information? She refused to give me her employee id or her last name and told me if I didn't want to provide this information that she was not going to continue with our conversation. At that point this woman hung up the phone on me not resloving any of my issues. I am very upset as I am confused why a copy of my drivers license, social security card, and utility bill is needed for an account that was opened online and I NEVER had to send them a copy of any of that information upon me opening this account. Upside has some shady practices stay away from this prepaid card
My account was put on hold due to some kind of qution rather it was my account or not they ask me to send some documents and I have submetted all the documents they ask for and still no reoleve to this matter they continue to give me the run around by doing things like giving me a fax number that is not in service and to top things off they have charged me 37.00 in a service that is unexplaned so there are hidden fees or the accounting is off either way this card has some qutionable services.
