THE FOLLOWING IS JUST THE MINIMAL THINGS WRONG WITH OUR SUPPOSED REFURBISHED CONCRETE PUMP THAT WE DID NOT SIGN OFF ON AND WE WERE NEVER SATISFIED WITH. UES had to replace a tire when we can to pick up the pump because we could easily see it would blow as soon as we took it off the lot. UES would not provide the serial number until we showed up in person, 5 1/2 hours away. There are MANY safety issues with the pump, the very basic items were never even addressed, they disclosed that there were 2800 hours on the pump, and then after it was in our hands told us they replaced the hour meter because there never was a meter, and that they should have been more clear in that they "estimated" there to be 2800 hours on a concrete pump over 25 years old! They wouldn't take the pump back and we had to pay for the 3rd party inspections to prove to UES that there were major problems and the pump was never in fact refurbished- as was promised. We were promised that all wear-parts would be 80% and the engine was completely gone through (we have emails to prove all of the above statements). We have continued to lose money and business reputation while having to make a payment on the equipment. There are MANY recent past customers who have been through nearly the exact same experience.
Below are findings from two very reputable companies:$225 Peterson Inspection:Ran engine and isolated vibration issue to #1 cylinder by eliminating fule. #4 cylinder is passing oil out of the exhaust manifold onto the engine house. The engine shakes violently under idle and there are signs of oil leakage by the front cover. The exhaust smoke was clear under high idle. Removed engine oil filter and cut filter open for inspection. Found extreme amount of ferrous material in the oil filter indicates the engine should be dissassembled to find the source of ferrous material before failure. Installed a new replacement filter.$150 Hydraulic Co.It is in my opinion that the overall condition is poor to fair. I found several items that should have been addressed on any machine that has been reconditioned.
Below is a list of items that were missed during the reconditioning process. The engine guard has been replaced and is incorrect. the guard does not cover all the pulleys and belts allowing for possible injury. The hour meter reads only 29 hours. This meter was replaced when the trailer was reconditioned. There are no markings or record of how many hours the trailer had before the reconditioning on the trailer or on any of the paper work provided with the trailer. The hydraulic pressure valve has an incorrect adjusting screw which may possibly vibrate loose and come out under high pressure causing another possible injury along with a mess of hydraulic oil.All of the hydraulic hoses have cracks, cuts, or points of wear. The high pressure hoses should definitely have been replaced. These hoses are on the outer part of the trailer exposing the workers to the possibility of either being sprayed with oil or even being injected with hydraulic oil.One of the high pressure hydraulic hoses has bare wires exposed and even worn through. This seriously questions the integrity of this hydraulic hose. When the trailer was repainted, most of the hydraulic hoses were taped off. The ends of the hoses the paint over sprayed onto have been painted with black paint, to match the color of the hose. The chemicals in the paint decay the outer layers of the hose shortening the life expectancy of said hose.
This completely defeats the purpose of taping off the hoses. They were still painted. There is a severe vibration once the diesel engine is started. This may be caused by one of the several issues but has to be addressed before damage is caused due to this vibration. The hydraulic filter leaks a small amount when not in use. This leaks proportionately increases with time of use and pressure. Also, the engine oil dipstick seal leaks. The hydraulic cylinder on the passenger side of the trailer had a crack in the base end weld. This crack was not repaired properly. Someone just welded over the crack until the leak stopped. This is not a repair but a bandage, After a period of time the overlay weld will crack too.The most simple of repairs have been treated with disregard. The remote that operates the trailer has been wired to the Head Light Dimmer Switch. The switch functions but is not the correct item for the trailer. When this switch was wired in it was covered with a blob of silicone, not with Heat Shrink that should have been used. It was done in such a poor manner, that water can still enter the switch. The opposite end of this cable is very loose and the wires pull out with very little effort. It is in my opinion that several items were overlooked when this trailer was reconditioned.
Some of these items should be taken quite seriously due to the possibility of personal injury if one or more of the items were to fail. After we filed a complaint, and obtained our own inspections...they agreed to provide a motor and other parts....all of which were no good the second time around! They sent used parts again. We now have a piece of metal that was supposedly "refurbished' 80% wear parts and I have emails prior to purchasing that stated they had taken the motor a part and went through it...yet the motor had about 100 hours left on it when we had a reputable company inspect it!! BEWARE. Check their facebook website and bbb.org (better business bureau....that will make it clear.
