The same thing happened to me in GA. I did a lot of work for United Datacom at Dicks Sporting Goods and the company closed shop. I'm filing a mechanics lien and if I can get the Feds involved I will. Let's do this.
United Datacom has once again failed to pay for services on a contract job. Did the work at Disk's Sporting Goods in Lexington KY and have been getting the run-aroubd for three months now and not one person seems to be willing to say why...
Someone needs to put these people in jail for awhile...
I worked as an independent cotractor for United Datacom and have yet to see any payment. Now I cannot get a hold of anyone at the company. There should be some state or federal agency that can ivestigate this comapny and their buisness ethcis. Can any one recommed an agency I can contact? It is not right for a company to use independent contractors to avoid payments. Can anyone clarify if the company shut down?
I have performed several contract assignments for DSG (Dicks Sporting Goods) thru this company. No payments were recived. I have attempted to contact Page and Krystal several times to no avail. Emails are bounced back. Left voicemail for accounts payable.
Completed network cabling for 2 sites in Tn. Haven't been paid. Tried to contact company, and every auto attendant option goes to mailbox 100. No one is there. They closed up shop. Now the CEO, Aaron Barnes, is a 'consultant' for Celera Tech.
Emails get kicked back. Cell phone numbers are disconnected. No one answers the corporate phone. I even called Celera Tech and got disconnected. The amount they owe me is around $2,000.00. I will update IF I get paid.
For all those techs out there that have been ripped off by UnitedDataCom please that note and think about what I am about to tell you here.
First, UnitedDataCom was removed from several of the work platforms for non-payment for the work performed.
Second, the CEO, Aaron Barnes, is a young man who graduated from college in 2012. College taught him well in the ways of creative business operation.
Third, the company, Celera Tech Inc. of Schererville Indiana, now uses Aaron Barnes as a consultant so they will not "tarish" their name. I guess they are trying to learn the tricks of the trade for a pro.
Fourth, review the work orders sent to you by UnitedDataCom. Are they from UnitedDataCom or direct from other companies. Consider this, if the work order is from another company they may be "on the hook" for the payments for work completed.
Fifth, how to go about trying to get paid. If the work order is from another company contact that company and request payment for the work done on their behalf. They will likely tell you they do not owe you anything but there may be options available to you. In most states a contractor can file a mechanic's lien against the company or property who received the benefit of your work and materials. When you file the lien besure to put the name of the company who issued the work order as the reason for the lien. Also, name any other companies listed on the work order as contributing to the lien.
Sixth, maybe instead of complaining you contact the Feds and file a fraud complain again the CEO Aaron Barnes.
Mail and Wire Fraud Definition
The federal government makes it a crime to use the mail or any wire communications technology, including the Internet, as part of a scheme to defraud. Because of the broad nature of these laws, mail and wire fraud are commonly charged in a wide range of cases. For example, people who pay a bribe or kickback to government officials typically use the phone or mail a letter at some point in the process.
Did you receive you work order via e-mail?
With the number of people that went unpaid it is clear he was sending out work orders with no intent to pay for the services and materials provided. (Fraud)
I hope this gives everyone some ideas. The only thing I can say is don't give up if you run over a bump in the road. Make sure this guy will never pull this again. Report this guy to the Feds and they will give him the time of his life!
I actually graduated college in 2004. As far as Celera, the gentleman you'd like to speak to is Strings Kozisek. A simple google search will return plenty of information on him. He agreed to merge our companies and then took our contracts and ran, leaving us with the bill. Happy to speak to anyone via phone or email regarding the ongoing federal lawsuit we have again him and his company, Sequenza Inc.
These two companies are one in the same. I have emails from united datacom customers stating that they changed to celera tech, because united datacom didnt want to answer calls direct so i called the customer direct. now they dont answer any calls. i will now attempt to put liens on all the places i have worked and start going direct to the end customers. there are posts every where from fieldnation, to tech blogs, from twitter and just plain ol google. i have all my paper work in order all deliverables and still cant get paid on time. any customer or tech should stay clear of this of these companies, even thier employees lie to protect the company, when themselves are handing out the work, you working people should be ashamed of yourselves for doing that to other working people. its not your fault but its still wrong.
United datacom owes techs tens of thousands of dollars, the owner and staff dont answer the calls to pay the techs they constantly put out work but dont pay. they work with customers like compucom, comnet, staley and other companies and run work nationally and do not pay on time or not at all. I called in for my ivoices to be paid and I have got the run around for months. Is there anyone else out there who is having this problem?
