I had a similar experience as the other countless people who got scammed by this "company." Made an offer on eBay and got a phone call shortly thereafter. Initiated paperwork and before I could even sign and return the deposit authorization for my credit card, Joe ran it and charge the $500 deposit! The paperwork they wanted me to sign could be summarized as the customer signing away any and all rights to legal action, and even included a line about how I would not be allowed to write a review of any kind on any public forum! That paperwork set off ALL the alarms and a quick internet search and I knew I'd been scammed like countless others.
I contacted Joe immediately and asked him to cancel the transaction which I had NOT LEGALLY AUTHORIZED or I would be forced to pursue legal action. His response? - "Legal action...What ever." AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. I will be contacting the Better Business Beaureau, eBay, and the Texas State Attorney's office. Run, don't walk from this scammer.
I bought a car from Ultimate Motorsport. I found it on eBay originally and made an offer. This seller supposedly had a 100% seller rating from eBay. My offer was turned down because there was already a higher bid. So UM sent me a personal email to tell me this. When I went back on eBay to make another offer, a pop-up came up that said I could only buy one item from this seller per week. What? So I called the company on the phone and told them what had happened and that eBay wouldn't let me make another offer. He asked how much my offer was, when I told him, he accepted the offer on the phone and immediately started sending the paperwork. So they completely sidestepped eBay to make this deal, and this is also why they have a 100% seller rate with eBay. eBay would not let me write a review on the seller since the transaction did not go through them. Silly because they are misrepresenting this seller AND eBay lost out on their fee from the seller.
So then when it came to shipping, it took over 15 days for them to attempt to find a shipper. They NEVER did get it shipped, so I had to arrange my own shipping. Now the shipper had some issues too, but it took 29 days to get the car to me from Houston from the day they recieved my payment for the car. When I called numerous times, every 2-3 days, sometimes more, their office secretary who arranges the shipping for their company, kept telling me no one would come pick it up to ship, even after we raised the pay to WELL above competetive rates. As I got more frustrated with the whole situation, I called for JOE the salesman, and he never returned any of my calls or messages. Once they had the money, they had no interest in speaking to me after that.
I'm trying to keep this short and concise, so I did finally recieve the car, it was actually in OK condition. The car had 650+ more miles on it than the odometer reading document that I and the company signed. So I don't know if UM lied about the mileage, or if the transport company had a delivery guy take it for a rather extended joy ride.
Bottom line: They are mis-represented on eBay, they sidestep eBay for the sale, aboslutely no service or help after they recieve the check, very poor shipping (none actually). I am filing a report with the FBI because these folks need to be put out of business. Don't do business with Ultimate Motorsports, Inc. in Houston Texas!
BUYERS BEWARE! Ultimate Motorsports of Houston salesperson Joe is the quintessential "used car salesman"!
I purchased an 08 Solara convertible, supposedly in "perfect" condition, only to find poorly completed body work with paint runs, numerous door paint chips and no owners manuals upon its' delivery!
Joe does not speak the truth; he does not have your best interest at stake, by any means. Joe WILL NOT reply to emails or calls with questions regarding shipping, titlework, paperwork once he has your money.
He shipped the car with temporary tags for another vehicle, resulting in my wife being surrounded by multiple state police cars and being told she was in a stolen car. Ultimately, she was ticketed. 5 weeks after purchasing, we finally got the titlework straightened out, with no help, whatsoever, from Ultimate.
Trust me, run, and don't look back; no car is worth the aggravation. Worst Ebay vehicle purchase experience, ever.
