I was trying to move out during February, 2014 so I made a reservation on uhaul.com and according to what I read, you are not charged for the reservation. So I made the transaction and from I what I read everything was normal, nothing unsual like cancellation fees.
When it came the day to pick it up, snow came in and I had to cancel my plans and did not pick up the vehicle. Later, I contacted a contacted the company and they said they work with uhaul, but they do not make the transaction. So I contacted through email uhaul, but I never got any answer back. Then I decided to contact my credit company and when they investigated, they received a document where it says there is a cancellation fee. However, this receipt is not the same as the one I saw during the reservation transaction. Had I seen that during the reservation process, I would have never made the transaction. So now they say I have to pay for a service I never got. I think that a $50 fee is way too excessive for the cancellation.
