I received 2 calls in the last 2 days from U.S. government grants. they pitch a $7000 grant that I qualify for and I'm supposed to ask "How did I qualify?"
they say I got it thru paying my taxes on time and not having bad crdit/defaults on loans. Then they ask "how do you want the money? there are 3 methods: checking acct deposit, debit/credit card deposit, and Western Union transfer. Anytime WU is mentioned, it means a scam, so I wanted more info.
I asked for WU transfer so they said to send $250 for processing and then call the Sr. account mgr. at this phone no: (202) 738-1123 and tell him the money is available then he'll give me the account transfer numbr for my WU money.
I didn't do the WU transfer, but they did call me back from this number: (233) 423-3423. Again, they asked me the same things: checking acct. transfer, debit card transfer or WU transfer. Just for giggles, I said: "lets do debit card transfer." I told him a fake debit card no. and I transposed the last set of numbers. He knew it was a fake and hung up on me.
do not believe in money for nothing. There are no grants unless you apply for them in person. This happens when you sign up to do online surveys and everyone is hungry for your $$$
Really need to put them out of business. I didn't give them any information however they had a lot of information about me. They even gave me information about my banking this is scary. The federal government needs to stop them. I was told I was approved that the government selected me.
I received a call from someone stating I have been selected to get a government grant in the amount of $14,566.00. I'm a tax payer with no crimal history and all I had to do is pay $235.00 for processing fee to get the grant. Some folks may fall for that junk but not me. I am writing this for folks to check and watch out for the calls.
Reporting to the federal government FBI to investigate.

This is our phone number! We are a US-based small business, and our phone number was apparently spoofed in caller-ID recently by some off-shore boiler-room scammers. To make matters worse, people seeking vigilante justice are now robo-dialing our company, jamming our phones so we can no longer receive calls and have run up almost 30,000 minutes of talk time (costing us several thousand $) JUST THIS WEEKEND! People! If you're smart enough to be a "hacker" and attack us, be smart enough to know the bad guys never scam using their own identity. We are just an innocent bystander and another scammer victim here! We're working with the service providers and FBI to investigate and try to do something about it. Please become part of the solution and don't attack us!
I received a phone call from "The United States Government Grant Department" offering me $1,000 Grant to use for anything I want. I told the caller, who had a heavy India accent, the United States Government never calls citizens. He ignored my statement asking for my mailing address, I gave him one that does not exist. He asked me for my age, I asked him for the web site, he gave me a bogus web address. Ripoff Report #982565 came up when I tried the web address through Google. I told the caller I knew he was a scammer and hung up. He called me back immediately and could not understand why I hung up. I told him he was breaking the law, is a criminal, and needs to go to jail. He screened "You are a criminal" and I hung up once again, he did not call me back.
