This is very simple and straight-forward. Tru-Value Builders (aka Sun - Star Builders) owes me money for a job I completed for them a month ago. They are giving me the run around and its obvious to me they don't intend to pay.
I built a patio cover for Tru-Value Builders at a San Rafeal based restaurant. Owner of the business and my boss at the time was Dennis Klein, Contractor License #705213
They claim the customer hasn't paid them therefore they won't pay me. But it doesn't work like that. I was their employee and did the work, so I need to be paid for the job. They owe me $1,180.00
They also claim the customer was not happy. I have offered, numerous times now, to return to the job and correct anything the customer wanted changed, but they are ignoring me. Besides, just because a customer is not 100% happy doesn't mean they don't have to pay. There is a contract and as long as the company provided what it was supposed to then the customer should pay for it. That's the law as I understand it.
One would think I'd have some other avenues of recourse, and I do, but maybe this can alleviate a drawn out legal battle. It's only fair, I did the work and need to be paid for it. I also have two helpers that are also waiting to be paid. They will be witnesses as well should it come to that.
