I took the CIT course and obtained my level 1. I was then supposed to complete my Equine Training and Applications part. She emailed me 7 example documents and some youtube videos with her back turned to the camera for most of it and poor sound quality. The videos were overall very short in length (maybe 15min?). THANK GOD I didn't buy my camera from her. She charged me $2495. The Infraspection course is $1695, so she values her 7 emails and 2 YouTube videos at $800..... Now I feel like I need more training and am about to enroll in a much industrious course that has hands on training with a veterinarian and farrier. I could have saved a ton of money and time.... Just take the CIT course and buy your own camera. Then I recommend looking for a different equine training course. Very disappointed
Do not do busines with this company! She will not deliver!
I contacted ThermScan Diaginostics to take thermographic images for a client in September 2014. Jennifer Weems, CEO, said she had a special going on for the camera, certification and hands on equine thermographic imaging training. After reviewing her website and talking to another thermographer that had been certified through her, I purchased the training and camera for $5,795.
It took weeks to get access to the online training from the third party provider and several more weeks to receive the training materials (important for successful completion of the online training.) I was only told after I received my training materials that she would not order my camera until I had completed my certification course. The certification course had a section on theory but concentrated on electrical, structural and mechanical engineering applications for the technology. There was mere mention of use on animals or humans.
I completed my certification in January 2015 and have been asking at least once a week about when I would receive my camera. When she did respond, she promised shipping information on my camera in “a few days” or on a following day of the week several times 8 weeks. The equine training promised has consisted of access to a few videos of her doing images and a few documents. She has not been able to provide any shipping information on the $3,900 thermal imaging camera and has had excuses that she has been traveling, very busy or that she was confused by my texts. I have contacted my credit card company, the Oregon State Attorney General, and an attorney.
I signed up with Jennifer to be trained as an Equine Thermographer back in November. She adviced me at that time that there was no legal issues with performing this service. She also stated that she had cameras in stock and would send one out immediatly if they weren't already spoken for.
I completed my Thermography course and still had not received a camera around the first part of December. When I contacted her she said she would send it right out and I would have it in no more than 10 days. When 18 days had gone by and I contacted her she had every excuse under the sun. From the fact that she thought I was on vacation so didn't want to send it out intill I got home to saying that she had issues with the cameras and had to send some back. She then wanted to send a camera that is unable to perform the very job that she is "training" people to do.
I use the term training loosly as the Equine training was supposed to be 16 hrs long. When she sent the training videos they took me all of 5-10 minutes to view. I thought maybe these were introductory videos but they were not. That was all the training she was giving on the Equine portion.
After visiting with several others who have also been scammed by Jennifer I have learned that in most states this is something that needs to be performed under a veterinarian.
I also contracted with Thermscan Diagnostics, CEO Jennifer Weems, to become a certified infrared thermographer, an equine thermographer, and get a FLIR E8 infrared camera and Pulse Electro Magnetic Field Therapy (PEMFT) machine. I paid nearly $10,000 to her. The equine thermography training was a 20 minute video only and also part of her montly $9.99 video club membership and was supposed to cover the entire training for the equine portion of this course. The camera and PEMFT machine was never delivered and she would never provide an order confirmation number or tracking number showing it was even ordered nor on its way. I inquired several times over several weeks asking the same questions. I was also instructed that I did not need to be a veterinarian to run this business, but after talking to the state veterinarian board in Texas, it turns out that you do and what she was advising me and others to do was actually illegal. I requested a refund, which was only partial and she told me the rest is being processed, so I had to file a dispute with PayPal and my credit card company and my refund is still pending. In regards to the PEMFT machine, I called the company directly where the machine is made and was told that she had purchased a PEMFT machine a couple weeks ago for herself. This tells me she has never had the intent to ever send me the machine, she used my monies to purchase a machine for herself. What is more disturbing is that she is "certifying" people across the country and is now advertising to expand into Canada and people are spending thousands of dollars with her for training and equipment they will never probably receive, plus they are not allowed to do what she's training them to do without either being a vet or being directly under a vet's supervision.
