These scoundrels trumpet their 5-, 10-, 15-, 20-year and lifetime warranties on their glass doors, but the warranties are not honored, period. The glass on the substandard door my contractor purchased through them spontaneously shattered, probably because it had been assembled incorrectly. No one was within 15 feet of the door when this happened -- after about 3 years of ownership. The door had hardly been used in all that time. When we called to initiate warranty coverage, we were told that glass is not covered at all. When I pointed out that in their warranty it clearly states that glass IS covered, the customer "service" person told me she didn't care what the warranty said, glass wasn't covered. If glass isn't covered, what on earth is? The door is 95% glass with a little wood around it. And the warranty clearly states that glass IS covered. If you are building or renovating a house, I strongly suggest you specify to your contractor that NO Therma Tru products are to be used. Based on my experience, the products are inferior, and the company is run by scam artists with zero business ethics. Buyer beware. I am surprised there has not been a class action against them yet.
Thermatru customer service is a joke. I contacted Brian a customer service supervisor today and he was not helpful at all. We have been waiting for a front door that was ordered 3 months ago to arrive. An initial door arrived with incorrect sidelights and incorrect hardware ( this was after we waited 2 months for the front door to arrive). Now after waiting for a correction, we are told it will be another 5 weeks for our front door to arrive. Thermatru's response through Brian the supervisor was "We only create the components and have no control over how long it will take the distributor to make the door". I explained that the buck stopped with them because their name is on the product. Too bad so sad was their response. What a completely useless customer service department. It is totally unacceptable to be made to wait 4 months for a front door. This problem is holding up the buiding of my house. It is costing me money as I pay on a loan waiting for this front door to arrive. Totally pathetic Thermatru

Bought my new home. Wanted the best door money could buy. Builder directed me to use a Therma-Tru fiberglass door with transom and sidelight.
All of the trim brokedown, pealed and fell off.
Called factory to have warrenty cover the failure.
They wanted pictures to prove it was their door systm. Took pictures of the hinge, glass etching logo and failure points.
Since I did not buy the door the builder did my warrenty was voided. I was not the original purchaser? What? New house from the builder?
Therma-tru is the worst product with no help from the factory.
