When I called, he said the camera (literally 1/2 off of retail elsewhere) I ordered was a 'Turkish' model - witha plastic body, and wouldn't fit my Canon lenses. (suspicion rose like bile in my throat). Offered me a great deal on an American camera for $300.00 more. Then I found the sites that warned of the company. Thank goodness I cancelled my card before it was hit. BEWARE!

This company is a total scam. Like the other complaints, I got the same run around; no tracking number, camera was a " Turkish " import model, could upgrade at a higher price. Then sold me all the equipment that was supposed to be in the original product. I ordered the camera on Dec 30, was going to be shipped the next day with a tracking number, never happened. I registered on there website and now I cannot log back in, do not know if they deleted me or what.

I called them 5 times to ask about shipping and tracking, was told it would be in a email, I have yet to receive. After this I called and cancelled my card and filed a dispute about the company.

Save yourself some headaches and phone calls, Buy from someone else and spend the extra money, you will be happier in the long run.

Its a Bait and Switch game! SCAM!! SCAM!! SCAM!!

I had the same exact experience as all of you are reporting...."they sell you an item than contact you by phone. They try to sell you upgrades and will not send you the item you purchased at the price they advertise". I point blank told 'Bruce' on the phone that they have false advertising if they advertise a camera at a certain cheap price and then email you to say...."Oh, you purchased the Chinese version with no warranty and I am sure you meant to buy the USA model for a mere $300 more."

Thankfully I smelled a rat and cancelled my order. Now I worry they have my credit card numbers.... Oye! Baiscally they are preying on people who succumb to pressure over the phone.

Lesson learned.. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is! ALWAYS go with a reputable and known company. Ended up buying my Canon 70D in a kit from Costco.

Shop wisely my friends!!

Intentional Fraud

Company shows sale prices on thier web page but will not sell the product for that price.

Ordered Nikon Cool Pix AW110 Digital Camera at "Sale" price of $159. Here is the text from thier website.

"2014 NEW YEARS WEEKEND SALE BLOWOUT SALE! GOING ON NOW ENDS 1-6-14

Deal 1: Free Card Reader + Free Lens Cleaning Kit + LCD Screen Protector And A Tripod + Camera Case with Purchase of A Digital Camera AUTOMATICALLY Comes With The Order"

Nikon COOLPIX AW110 Digital Camera (Orange)

Sale Price: $159.00

Mfg Part #: 26412"

Received email saying there was a problem with the order and that I had to call in. When my assistant called she was told the credit card number was wrong and asked to repeat it. She did not have the info. But they claimed they would try again, then told that the battery was not included and asked if I wanted a battery. She said yes.

Nikon part number 26412 is the camera with battery and charger.

The bill I actually received was for $283.50 Almost double the "Sale" Price.

As many others have reported they sell you an item than contact you by phone. They try to sell you upgrades and will not send you the item you purchased at the price they advertise. In my case I bought a nikon camera and they told me it would cost a lot of extra dollars to get the USA version. They claimed the camera was set up in chinese which i know is not true. Nikon cameras can be set to many languages. They refused to fulfill my order even though i had already given them my credit card information. They also tried to pressure me into ordering other accessories at inflated prices that i did not want. I was so concerned at that point and after having read other complaints filed on digital pros, I notified my credit card company not to accept the charges on my card.

Ordered a camera December 9, 2013, after several telephone calls to them inquiring as to delivery date, in which they asked for the security number on the back of the credit card, said the camera had been returned by FedEx as an undeliverable address, Had me upgrade to an American camera with a battery as the original order was a foreign make without a battery and finally advised me the ordered camera was no longer made and that I would have to upgrade my order. On January 2, 2014 I cancelled the order.

I ordered a Nikon digital camera at a very low price. No other company had such a low a price. When contacted, the company indicated that the camera was a foreign model that could not be shipped to the US and had no warranty. This is their standard operating mode. Do not be fooled. Google "The Digital Pros" and "scam" and see what shows up, then believe it.

Was looking for a Pentax MX-1 and found a great price at the Digital Pros. I guess because their ad popped up at the top of the page, I just thought the company was somehow legit. The website looked reasonable, so I went ahead and placed the order. First issue was that I never received an order confirmation, just an email a few days later stating that my order was placed incorrectly. The zip code was entered wrong?? I had to call Bruce and confirm the correct address. While on the phone, I went ahead and bought the battery and SD card for what I thought was just a few dollars more, but was actually billed $200! I didn't realize that until I checked my statement later.

I never received an invoice or tracking number. Sent an email and followed-up with 3 phone calls requesting order confirmation and tracking number. Was advised that the order could have shipped from "multiple" warehouses and it would take time to get this information. Really?? I was finally promised that "Greg" would call back in an hour with the tracking number. When I didn't hear from him, I saw all the negative reports online and realized that I had made a mistake. I called again to get the tracking number which they didn't have. I told them to cancel the order. They told me it has already shipped. They immediately processed a return, but then told me I would have to pay a re-stocking fee. I asked them for proof that the order had shipped and they refused. Clearly, it had not.

I reported the fraud to Chase, and they are investigating. How can a merchant claim to charge a restocking fee for an order for which there was no evidence it ever shipped?? Based on what I know now, this company makes their money from re-stocking fees. They either ship fake merchandise that gets returned (with a re-stocking fee), or they don't ship the merchandise, but claim to do so hoping that the customer will just cancel the order and ask for their money back. A bogus return order is issued and re-stocking fee charged. It is interesting that they offer no documentation of any business transactions, but claim to record all calls. I have never encountered a business like this one.

I have other opinions on how these guys make their living, but you get the picture. I have contacted Google in hopes that Digital Pros will be barred from advertising. If I don't get all my money back, I will go after the ISP and their credit card processor. I can't believe these crooks get prominent placing in Google, given their complete lack of anything resembling a legitmate business model.

What a colossal waste of time. On top of everything else, these guys are extremely rude and couldn't care less about customer service. I see that if I ordered the same camera and accessories from a reputable dealer, it actually would have been less than what my credit card was charged. Someone needs to stop these guys...............it might as well be me. Advice for the next poor victim is to get all your money back and complain vigorously to your bank, their internet service provider and any company that is advertising for them (such as Google AdWords). Good luck.

My son wanted the Canon SX50. After researching online, thedigitalpros.com had the best price. It was not a small price difference either, they were one-hundred dolars cheaper then anyone else. I placed the order on their website. The next day, I get a call from a man who said his name was Jerry. He states that they did not have the 3 digit number from the back of my card, even though I know I entered it. This is LIE NUMBER ONE (Another post said the same thing happened to her). They apparantly say that they need that number just to pressure you to buy additinal accessories. This guy who calls himself Jerry asked me why I did not buy a battery and charger for the camera. I said that it comes with a battery and charger. He said no it doesnt .This is LIE NUMBER TWO. While on the phone with him, I immediately looked up the camera again, and every website states the battery and charger are included. I could not believe what he said next, he actually called me an a--hole, he told me that he did not like my attitude and that he was going to cancel my order entirely!!! I asked to speak with the owner, and he said he is the owner. I called back several times, and he is the one to answer every time. DO NOT deal with these people. Extremely rude and unprofessional!

I purchased a Nikon d3200 Camera from this company, I was told I would get two lenses, I received only once lense. The battery dies after snapping four pictures, the pictures are not clear they are grainy. The tutorial disk is blank, I also bought a 3 year warranty, I was told if I was not satisfied I could return the camera for a new one at no cost. I have since found out that there is a 15% restocking fee. I paid $699.00 for the camera and $79.99 for a three year warranty. I hope I am not out this money. I am planning to call Nikon to see if they can help me.

My husband purchased a Canon EOS Rebel T3I, he thought he was getting the best price around from this company. He wrote an e-mail to them asking about shipping and the guy from the store called him back. He promised overnight delivery to be included in the package, to insure that it would be in hands the next day (Friday), in time for our anniversary. It never arrived, my husband called that day and he promised he would have it, again, next day air (for Saturday delivery), saying the shipment was lost. My husband said "Forgot it, just cancel the order.", but the guy persuaded him by throwing in an extra battery for the camera for the inconvenience. The camera finally arrived on Monday; it was marked UPS Ground NOT next day air. I opened it up and it was missing the original Canon battery, thank God he "threw" in an extra battery for no charge. I charged the battery and guess what? That's right, the camera didn't work! The following day I called and I spoke with the same guy that my husband did. He insured that it had to be the battery; I said I want a Canon battery to be shipped, not an off brand. He promised to send two, since that was his deal to my husband. Low and behold the batteries arrived the following day, only to find neither (after being charged) made the camera work.

Every day I would call trying to get a RMA, only to find now that customer service was so busy, that I would either have to call back or have someone call me back. Don't go for the later, because they never call back! It took a week worth of phone calls to finally get someone to say that they were mailing me a RMA and that I would have to return it to them signed. Surprise, surprise, nothing arrived; it's now a week later! Today I called to let them know that I am still waiting, I was giving the run around be placed on and off of hold for 25 minutes, until lastly a guy (who I believe I was speaking to each time, but he tries to pretend that he someone else) says: "Can I help you?" I asked, "Is this some kind of a joke?! I've been explaining my problem for the past 1/2 hour." The guy replied, "I know your problem, I will send you a RMA and you can sign it, return it, and will be charged a 15% restocking fee." I lost it, I literally went ballistic on him explaining how it was never shipped next day air, that it arrived missing a battery and the camera is broken. He said that was there policy and that I'm lucky he's letting me return it after their 7-day return policy. I continued to scream, shout and at this point yell obscenities, telling him that I've been calling everyday and that it was their fault that the camera was not returned as of yet. I told him that I was returning the camera without a RMA and he told me that it better be returned by UPS to their NY address. I said don't worry it will be. He refused to give me his name. I finally hung up after my 50 minute call from hell. I immediately called my credit card to file a dispute. Then I went to UPS to send them back their camera. I asked my credit card company what happens if they refuse it? They said the broken camera and credit will be mine.

Please do yourself a favor and do NOT order anything from this company!

I ordered a NEW Nikon D5200, I placed the order online and received a email to call and confirm my order. when I called I was told that I ordered a imported model that would have no warrenty, for a $179.00 more dollars I could get a USA model. I agreed to the upcharge and receilved the camera a week later. The camera came in a generic box with a home made label. There was no warreny card. all nikons come with a warrenty card, without you have no warrenty. The camera that I recieved was a heavly used camera, dirt behind the viewfinder and scratches all over the body. the camera is unusable. I filed a fraud report with the credit card company and got a refund depending a investigation. I notified the company and was told that the camera was new and that Nikon does'nt send warrenty cards, that was old school. After my secound call I wanted a RMA number to return the used camera, And was told that they would send a email with a form to fill out and fax back for a RMA. The email came two days later on a Friday at 3:00pm and had to be faxed back in 24hrs. The fax said that it had been over the seven day return period. I have only had the camer two days when the email came, I hope that the credit card company can handle this scam of a company. The web site shows a false address in Florida, but was shipped from New York.

Over Labor Day Weekend I was searching the web for Labor Day deals that would get me a good price on an investment for my freelance filmmaking. My dad referred me to a great looking ad he found while browsing around that same day. I ended up purchasing a Canon 5D Mark II for $1,297 off of thedigitalpros.com which was a great deal for that camera and model. Almost too good, in fact, it was too good. The next day I received a phone call from a man named Bruce. He was a quick, smooth talking snake. I'd lived in the LA area long enough to recognize a con man's vernacular. He tested the waters of how much I knew by asking me about the camera I purchased and if I had worked with one before. I played dumb and answered his questions in a way that made me seem like I had no idea what was going on. Bruce told me that the camera I purchased was an import model meaning it was made in Taiwan and only had Chinese settings. I told him that I wasn't aware that there were import and USA models of Canon cameras and that Canon was an American company. He said that the USA model was made in Japan and imported to the USA and had English settings while the import model was made in Taiwan and only had Chinese settings. He said it he would gladly change my order to the USA model and add a 32 gb card and two 5-hour lithium batteries for the "low-price" of $2,299. When I asked him why it was so expensive to change the order to a camera that had English settings, he got flustered and re-explained that there were two types of camera. I told him i would call him back after I checked to make sure I had enough funds. I immediately called my dad and let him know whats going on and then called the guys at Adorama. He confirmed my thoughts about it being a scam after doing a little bit of internet surfing. He also confirmed my understanding that the language settings are universal and that there were no cameras made in Taiwan. He said he has more recently been hearing stories of this site trying to upsell their product and if they succeed, they will send you the product you originally bought and if they don't succeed on their upsell they will not deliver the product but claim it has been backordered. He suggested I cancel my order and inform my bank. I did that and called Bruce out on his antics after I reissued the credit card I used under different numbers. he denied it and said we will only read these reviews that there are no foriegn import cameras because we are trying to pay the Taiwan price for the Japan-made camera. He said he would cancel my order and now I am waiting to see if he actually does.

simply put: don't buy into their scam- bruce is a smooth-talking snake and will try to weasel his way into your pocket book. This "company" has no integrity and should be shut down.

On a reputable camera review website (CameraLabs.com) I saw an AD from Digitalpros.com for a Nikon D5200 dSLR I wanted to buy. The Digital Pros AD offered this camera 'on special' for a price of $284.00 with free delivery. The website displayed a countdown timer showing the special was good through such-and-such a date (which I later learned was just a gimmick - the counter always displays an end date 48 hours later than the time of your visit to the site).

I clicked on the AD, read everything and placed an order for the camera through their website.

You can see a jpeg of the ad by clicking the link: http://tinyurl.com/lqwm2bo

The next day I received an email from the company asking that I call to confirm my order. When I called, the representative (Bruce) asked if I was aware thatthe camera I had ordered was not a US model, and that it did not have English as a language option in its software.

I told him I had assumed the camera was grey market due to the low price, and I sked him if he was sure that this camera did not have Emglish installed as a language option. He insisted it did not. (I can't say he lied because I can't prove it, but every foreig and grey market camera I've ever seen still has English installed on it).

He then told me that for just an additional $316 I could order the camera with English.

I asked why his company, based in the, US was advertising a non-english camera on an English language website - and not specifying in the AD that the camera did not come with English installed. He had no answer was incredibly rude and arrogant.

What a scam this company is. Now that I've read many of the hundreds and hundreds of complaints I've found on the web, I am very grateful that I cancelled my order (and thank fully, my credit card was not charged by the company). Still, it makes my skin crawl to think they have my information.

This was a very frustratin experience - made worse by the fact that after I placed the order, in anticipation fo receiving the camera I purchased two lenses for it (from somewhere else).

Avoid these crooks like the plague.

I order a Nikon L620 camera, which I saw for $124 and I also ordered a 4 GB memory card for $49.99. The ad on the internet states the camera is $124, When they kept my credit card information on my account, I was worried, and then they called to make sure I ordered the merchandise, so I felt more secure. I order almost everything I buy on the internet, and have NEVER had a problem, until now. When the salesman called, he asked why I didn't order rechargeable batteris, and I said I hadn't thought about it, so he said he would put them in with the charger fo $49,99. Great! Then I get my order and the bill is $309. What?? I call, and the man explains the the charger and the batteries were EACH 49.99 and the camera was $129, not $124. I told him how displeased I was, and he didn't even care. I told him I would put in a complaint, and he didn't even care!! DO NOT purchase from this rip off company!! Do yourself a favor and stick with reliable sources like amazon! I wish I had read these reviews BEFORE I had made this purchase. Very upsetting and expensive lesson here!

SCAMMERS, stay away!

Ordered from them because of their cheap price. A day later, I check the status of my order and it tells me to call to confirm... When I called, they told me they had the wrong digits on the back of my credit card.. I found that weird as I'm pretty sure I put it in correctly... After telling them the numbers, he asked why I didn't order a battery... I told them I don't need an extra battery and he then replied by saying this model doesn't come with anything but the camera... He said they stopped supplying batteries with the camera for years and that I ordered a import model, Turkish to be exact... He offered to give me a newer model camera for a bit more money... After I refused, he kept asking if I was sure and that there's no refunds on the orders and that the phone call was bring recorded... I told him that I just wanted what I ordered... I then asked when would it be shipped out... He stuttered and started to say 24-48 hours and then all of a sudden said 3-5 days when we order it from turkey... Wow I said ok and he just hung up on me as if he was mad at me for not taking his offer... I immediately went to my bank and told them to close my bank card and ordered a new one. I then email them and tell them to cancel my order and that I will not be calling them at all to talk about anything.... Today is 8/17/13, I placed the order on the 14th... I was curious to see if they cancelled it or not so I went on there site to check the status of my order and now it says back order... What a mess they are! Whether they cancel my order or not, they will not be getting my money because I cancelled my card... STAY AWAY FROM THEDIGITALPROS.COM

I ordered an Olympus TG-830 on Friday evening 11/15/13 and then rec'd an email on Monday the 18th saying to call them back to confirm my order and when I did they asked if I had intended to buy the Turkish model rather than the US model. I told them nothing on their website said anything about two different models and that I wanted the US model of course. He said well the US model is $199 rather than $164 so I cancelled my order even though he said I would not find it cheaper than $199 anywhere. But he said they were out of the US model so that is why the website did not show there being a Turkish and US model. ….but they usually still have 4-5 so he could probably still get me one for $199. The person I talked to was very rude as well. These people are crooks and I'm worried that they have my credit card number and 3-digit code.

Over two weeks ago i ordered a cannon camera. got an email the next day saying that i needed to contact them about my order. i was then introduced to the high pressure sales teqnique and informed that no batteries or memory card was coming with the camera and asked if i wanted to buy one at a discount. which was actuall double to triple the going price. i declined. i called today to get a tracking number and was told that the item was on backorder for the next 3-5 weeks. they claimed they sent me an email but never did. just a bunch of scam artist losers stay away!!!

looks like i was never even charged but i have to check again

update

My bank protected my interest when it came to this so called business. These folks are dishonest and are to be avoided. The old saying is if it's to good to be true it is. Best to buy your camera supply with a company who is founded on trust. This company did not provided me with a tracking code they refused my request to cancel my order they called me a liar and lied to me saying they sent my order out. They have never attempt to contact me to confirm my order. They also claim to remember you by your voice only without any reference to an actual order number to look up your information. Look up this company on the Web there are to many complaints and danger signs. These folks are not to be trusted.

Ordered a Camera at TheDigitalPros.com website $350, everything seemed like it went through. Got an email everyday for 5 days from the company asking for me to call them to confirm my order. When I called was told my credit card did not go through, I read him the card number, he said I had enetered the security code wrong. He then said the camera did not come with a battery, said they stopped sending them with batteries and he sold me one with a charger for $69.00 said it was a longer life battery. Then he said I should have a fast speed card also, I agreed to buy that for $20.

The next day I looked at my bank account and I was charged $550.00. I right away emailed back from one of his emails asking for a detailed statement of the charges. I did not get a reply. I have tried to call and everyday at any time I get a recording saying call back during business hours. I have not received the product and it has been weeks. I have also emailed several more times trying to reach someone.

I've called my bank and disputed the charges and the fraud, they are handling it. I also saw at ripoffreport.com another persons story almost identical to mine about this same company, which is what lead me to this site.

The fradulent companies website is TheDigitalPros.Com and their email is also coming to me only showing that name. Their phone number is 888-334-9215

This company is a swindle artist. They try and offer cheaper products but don't disclose that they are imports. Thebather expect you to buy a battery, charger, and other stuff that should always come with camera, at least the US models do. You receipt will not show how much each item is but just "bundles" it together. They also putabunch of "free" crap in there that they never tell you about but expect you to bee happy about. They ask you to call them to confirm you order and blatantly lie that canon cameras never come with batteries or chargers anymore.

In attempt at returning the product they want youto pay a restocking fee, shipping to you, and convenience fee. Basically trying to make it to worth your time or money. They won't just take the product back and return your money. The people on the phone ( calling them customer service is an insult to people who are in that service) are very used to disgruntled calls.

Do Not Order from them. You will regret it!

  • Jul 22, 2014

I purchased a camera from them for a listed price online of $291.00. They later contacted me to inform me that the price only included the camera not such accesories as batteries or charger or anything else for that matter. Adding all that brought the price up to $388.00. When I tried right then and there to cancel the order, the sales person informed me that to cancel an order that has not even gone out yet, I would be charged a 10% fee. Against my better judgement I decided anyway to go along with the purchase. When I received my camera, instead of the red camera that I purchased I received a black one. I called them trying to return the item. now they tell me to retun it I would be charged a 15% re-stocking fee plus shipping and handling fees. To top it all off, the item I received, looks like more like a refurbished product than a brand-new one. The customer service was also the worst experience I have ever had as first of all, they have a phone system that tells you to press various buttons for contact to specific services, yet when you do it's always the same person that answers the phone. When I purchased the camera he was in the sales department and his name was Tom. When I called customer service he picked up the phone again but this time around his name is Lloyd.

This store is downright shady. Customers should be advised to stay away from it unless they want to be taken advantage of.

This outfit is a scam suitable only for extreme masochists. Other reports have included calls to the FBI on their practices and I have little doubt that they deserve it. What surprises me is that my purchase was made through Amazon and I expected a better third party filter from them.

Their m.o. is to sell an item cheaply, have you call to confirm the purchase, then aggressively push unnecessary items and threats in order to increase the price. Although my item was new, they claimed it did not include a battery, charger, etc. etc. for which they wanted $19.99 extra for every item. I refused, then they lowered the item prices to $5.00. Another ploy was insurance to cover your not receiving the item. In any case, after 45 minutes of haggling, they agreed to deliver by Xmas.

Upset at the call, I checked their reputation online and it is Black, Black, Black. Complained to Amazon. Then called them when package not received by Xmas and they now state that it's backlogged. In the meantime they have charged my credit card. Am monitoring my credit card account daily to check if they have sold my c.c. information at which point I will report them to the authorities.

Do not purchase from this outfit no matter what. Put them out of business because they're the cockroaches of the internet.

  • Jun 30, 2014

On April 7th 2014 I ordered, online, a camera package through thedigitalpros.com they called me to verify my order, but really it was to up-sell me the battery and charger. I said I wasn't sure if the prices on those were good through them, so I need time to check it out. The sales rep said they only had one more in stock, that I should get it now and tried to pressure me into purchasing, so I cancelled the order altogether thinking I could always re-order. I called to reorder and the same voice answered, he was not cooperative at all. Again he tried to up sell the "American" version to me (of a Nikon?) for $150 more. I asked for his name he said Jonathan, I then asked his last name and he refused. I asked to speak to his manager; he said he was the manager, told me to go pay retail and hung up.

After being hung up on, I decided to look into this company a little more and found, on the BBB website, their physical address of 495 Grand Blvd, Ste 206, Miramar Beach, FL 32550-1897 which is actually another company all together. According to Google Maps, it is for paddyandlily.com I found out this is a photography studio. I went to the website and was re-directed to another one with the name of http://twolightsphotography.com, I know that websites can change names or re-direct to the "new" site, so that didn't strike me as odd, until I noticed that the number they called me on was from New York and they are supposedly in Florida?? I used a reverse directory to make sure I was correct and my cell phone didn't lie, the call was from New York, it said Level 3 VoIP in New York, NY...What the heck is that? So I looked it up and this is what I found; Level 3 is a VoIP company that lets you "Add virtual phone numbers from other area codes or countries — giving you a local presence — without a local office." So if they are really based out of New York and not Florida and they have a fake address in Florida...Now I am thinking that these people don't even exist. I am incredibly grateful that I didn't actually purchase anything from these scam artists! But I will be checking my credit card for a while to be sure nothing appears that shouldn't be there!

Ordered canon G15 camera and lithium battery. Internet site said that camera was $269 and battery was $39.99. On internet site, it stated that this was a new years sale and if you ordered "any" lithium battery you would get Deal #3, as shown on their web site, which was a second battery free.

Next day received call on order. Was told they were processing order and then started to go over items. Was informed that there was no battery charger included with camers and thay wanted me to upgrade to the extended life lithium battery. I told them, all that i wanted was the camera and the battery and when i mentioned about the 2nd free battery was told that this only applied the extended life battery which costs $20 more. When i would not upgrade or change order they cancelled the order.

Should have known that if it is to good to be true it must not be.
