On 07/16/2015 i ordered a fishing rod from Sportsman's Guide. On 07/17/2015 i Called their customer service to cancel that order. A female customer service rep told me the order i had placed the order had not processed for some reason or another, (she could not explain the reason). I told her again i want to cancel my order placed the previous day. I also told her that because she could not explain the reason i want to make sure the order is cancelled, that i was going to place an order for a different fishing rod and i did not want the order i was cancelling to interfere with my credit card in placing another order.
She replied to me, don't worry about it, the order will cancel and there would be no problems. After this call to their customer care center, i placed an order for the rod i wanted. The weekend went by and then on Monday i recieved an email stating my credit card had been charged and item had been shipped, which was (NOT) suppose to happen. Later that day i recieved another email stating they were processing the last order i placed. I immediately sent multiple emails staing due not ship after charging my card when they wern't suppose to.
I recieved multiple emails stating they were trying to contact the processing and shipping dept; to stop order but if they couldn't stop in time i can either refuse shipment when it reaches my house or i could download and print a $6.00 and some odd cent return mail slip. I immediately send reply email stating they better make a call to their shipping dept; seeing it only takes seconds to make. Then i recieved more emails stating they could not stop the process in time and they had already shipped it.
I do a lot of online purchaseing; i have never had to deal with such... s l o w ...process and shipping. They take 3-5 days just to process and then 5-7 to recieve shipment of item i ordered. I recieve most of the items i order from 99% of other companies in the time it takes them to just process before they ship; except in the case where i called immediately to cancel the order i wanted to cancel. As far as i am concerned their business Policies and practices are deceptive and unetical.
If you go to www.resellerratings.com/store/Sportsmans_guide... there which they do not participate in...there are a plethora of (NEGATIVE) reviews. Only 1 Star out of 5, and a 1.88 out of 10 rating. Read the ratings and (do NOT do business with Sportsman's Guide. Maybe Sportsman's Guide should paticipate in resellerratings.com so they can learn and change the bad business practices they do.
I am 62 years of age and live on limited Military Disability, i plan my monthly money wisely. I stated this to Sportsman's Guide customer care but it seems they just (Don't Care)... They went on with their daily operations and ended up screwing me on my monthly spending allotment.
I recommend buying elsewhere...ABSOLUTELY (DO NOT) do business with Sportsman's Guide unless you want to go through a bunch of crap and end up having a bad day.
I re-newed my membership as they have decent savings and good specials. After joining, you are supposed to receive "extras", free shipping and 2 $10 coupons. I received neither, and after calling and being spoken to sharply and rudely, was given 2 coupon codes. I tried to place a new order with code....NOTHING. I called and was told I did MUST have done something wrong. After 16 min of being on hold, they took my order verbally. I finall rec'd me email confirming my new membership. It was then I was told to get $10 off I had to spend $100. Also, NO fre shipping. After trying callagain, I was treated rudely, and still got guff about asking about coupons and other questions about seeing items cheaper on their catalog.
