Recurrent fraudulant charges! Never ordered this product! I never used a credit card and I do not know how they got this???
I noticed charges from the Neat Company on my credit card statements in 2012. I have tried to contact them several times to dispute these charges. I contacted my bank to cancel and they informed me that I needed a cancelation from the company. Again, I attempted to cancel the Neat Service that I never ordered and that I have never used. I also never recieved any products from them...no scanner or anything. I finally got a customer number from someone at customer service to cancel the service. I recieved an email from them acknowledging my email. I thought I was done with this. Now I see that they are continuing to charge me! I have forwarded the emails to my bank to show the intent to cancel and their response. I am still waiting for a response. Again, I am sending emails because that is the only way to contact them. The site does not give instructions to cancel services. I am very angry that a company can get away with this for so long!!! I am being taken advantage of. My next recourse will be to close all my bank accounts and start fresh with a different bank. Which is what I intend to do if this cannot be resolved any other way.
We have been using a Neat company scanner for the last couple of years. The company has replaced it 3 times, even though it was out of warranty. However, it has been unreliable, which is why they replaced it, and lately the software has been acting strangely.
While the equipment and software have been somewhat reliable, with the exception of the needed replacements (the paper would not feed through after using it for a few months), all of a sudden the software would not recognize the database.
Calls to the company are impossible. They seem to have cleverly added caller ID recognition to the mechanical software that answers the phone. This means that when you call back several times, and try different alternatives in order to finally talk to someone, you can't get through. I tried this trick several times and finally I called customer sales thinking that surely they would want to answer that phone with a live person. All I got was the same recording as the others which stuck me into a ultimate 'please leave a message' destination which nobody ever listens to. This seemed strange that I would get the same repeated message with diminished choices after a different one being heard the 1st call.
I then tried calling from a different phone number and was immediately connected to sales. The person who answered apologized and told me to try a different email address. I did so, and 24 hours later got a reply back from someone who apparently did not read my message. They asked for all the information I had in the email and I never heard from them again. I wrote a letter of complaint mentioning the case number, and the company sent back a courteous reply asking me for all the same information that I had supplied in the 1st email. The third email reply was the same.
It's impossible to get a hold of anybody that knows anything and wants to talk on the phone. If you describe your problems to them, they apparently don't seem to read the emails and ask the same questions.
In one instance, I recorded the problem I was having over the phone in contacting someone and sent that to them. It involved a possible solution to reaching someone and left a number that was indecipherable. I sent the recording to them with a question of whether anything at all works at the Neat company.
If you buy a Neat product, make sure that you are technically adroit to be able to service the system yourself and be willing to put up with no technical support or service at all. In my case, we are switching brands, and will sell our scanner on eBay.A company with good customer service is someone who will sell more product and with whom I will stick with forever. The Neat company will never hear from me again, as is apparently their choice.
I reached out on line to ask if anyone knew if I could obtain a replacement cord for my Neat copier. I have misplaced mine in a recent move. I received an answer to contact NEAT. I dd this and ordered a replacement cord for $4.95 through the NEAT Company, After placing the order I was levied a shipping charge of $9.95 which seemed a little high, but since I cannot use the copier I felt I had no choice but to pay it.
The following day I checked my credit card and was shocked to find that NEAT Company had actually charged nearly $19.00 total for the replacement cord. In summary, the $4.95 cord had shot up to close to $19.00.
I tried to contact NEAT to speak with someone--anyone --to see if this was in error or what had happened. You simply cannot reach anyone at this company.
Somehow, something must have transmitted, because I received a mysterious e-mail this a.m. stating that if you give an "incorrect" zipcode or address, they just "might" charge you extra for this little mistake. Now I ask you why would someone give an incorrect zipcode or address if they want to receive something they have ordered and want in order to use their product?
This company has multiple ways to contact them and it is all behind "curtains?. Look at their site sometime and you will see what I mean. If you seriously want to "speak" with someone----you will not find a way to do it.
I haven't looked at their BBB but will most likely file something against them on this little mishap. I would have made every effort to find a work around on plugging this device in if I had known it was going to cost me almost $20 to replace a simple cord through this really NEAT company---no pun intended.
I upgraded my Neat Software in October of 2013 and got the "FREE" 30 day trial. After 30 days they started billing my credit card for $15.00 per month. My accountant caught this and I called Neat for a refund as I never used it other than syncronizing my data when I installed the update. The person I asked for the refund said as a favor they would cancel my account and credit back only three months.
If there is an attorney out there I would like a law passed where credit cards ARE NOT automatically charged after a free trial period. This practice is just plain horse s***
I thought Neat Receipts was an honorable company, but I guess not.
Bought Neat Receipt scanner online when prior one broke from their website - came with "free" icloud trial - never used or setup, but company charged repeatedly $15.93/month on my credit card used for the web purchase with no notification, bills, emails, or letters. When I called several months later, they refused to refund despite noting that this service was never set up or used.
I purchase this item in 2012. The company offered the cloud for free the first month. I requested this not to be placed on my account. I was informed the had to but, I could cancelle at any time. I did in fact call back to cancell. Well this is still being charged to my account in 2014. I contacted the BBB after being contacted by there collection agency. Then suddenly my account was paid on full. But, 14.99 is being charged I have paid over $500. In a unauthorized charge. I am still going back in forth rebutting with them. I was informed I was given all the neat company allows. I have now paid over $1,000. For this machine I have NEVER used.
