I recently went through a bad break up from a long term relationship. I was serious about finding a new relationship and saw an advertisement for Tampa Singles. I went to their website and signed up for a consolutation. I went to the scheduled meeting and spoke with their representative for a couple of hours. The meeting went well, and was told about the cost. I signed up for the basic package.
The following week, my life changed drastically for the worse. I was informed my job was ending and my father's health was terminal. I quickly called Tampa Single to inform them of my situation and work out the details for a refund. I was informed that because the 3-day refund clause has expired, they wouldn't refund the money and the only option I had was they would put the service on hold for another time.
I haven't used any of their services and won't have the ability. Can anyone please help me with this matter.
Please be aware of a dating service in the Tampa Bay, FL area called Tampa Singles. This organization promised me professional, attractive and physically fit men after I paid them $1,000 and have not received anything near what they said they could offer me, even after several dates. And this was after I provided specific details on the types of men I would be interested in dating in a 2.5 hour high pressure initial interview.
I am so disgusted and have been communicating with the founder, but he has been completely rude and unprofessional to me and will not refund one penny and says I don't deserve a refund. Some months ago, I spoke to a dating coach per their request, reported them to the BBB and also contacted the Hillsborough County Protection Services office. None of whom were able to help me resolve my complaint. I have correspondence from over a year ago of what I emailed them as well as their responses. I am so angry they are taking advantage of people's finances and emotions and not providing the service I and others were told we would receive.
I asked in my first meeting if I saw a picture of a man, and was not at all interested in his look, if I could be matched with someone else. I was told this was possible to find out after my first match you are not allowed to see client photos. I was matched with men that were shorter than me, outside of the age range I requested, not financially stable or physically attractive/fit, had bad hygiene, negative attitudes from previous dates they had experienced through this service, were still married and complained they were not being matched with women they had described. Most of these men told me they paid over $3,500 to join. Yikes!
I don't know where else to turn. I was told by the owner that if I wanted my money back I had to meet with him in person or agree to arbitrate according to my contract. This of course costing more money out of my pocket. I told him I had no interest meeting with him because it is more of my time wasted and have already sent several emails to him as well as his staff explaining my frustration and disappointment for many months. There is nothing more I can say to him.
How can a company say they are reputable and get away with ripping people off? People need to know about Tampa Singles and if I have learned anything, I will make sure to research a company in more depth before signing a contract or talking to other people to make sure they are a legitimate company!
