It seems to me the entire world is caving into one Bank..Synchrony Bank. Discover is at the top of my list right now because of how they decreased the credit limit THEY initially gave me based on a "periodic review" Since I always made payments on time and followed all the rules and regulations put forth in their statement I wondered what I possibly could have done to piss them off. So I did a chat..the girl had not a clue of how to help..I recieved a letter stating there were three reasons why and by the way all those reasons stated seemed strange to me one was that I had accounts that were "too recent" the other was that I did not have a mortage payment..What? First I didnt have a mortage payment when they gave me the credit nor did I state that I did so how does that even apply? But "too recent" I had to find out the answer..I called Discover..the billing girl did not know what was too recent..she actually said for me to hold the line as if we were at home chatting or something..she came back 5 minutes later and said what were you saying..I said "I am a customer and you just left the phone..why?" She told me she had to go ask her manager the answer to the question which she didnt even remember. She said too recent means newer credit history. I asked if by some law I wasnt allowed Newer Credit ? She had to go ask her manager again..now we are in 15 minutes and we have 2 more reasons to go..Im gettin nervous now. Finally I asked for the manager when the girl called me combative..the manager told me basically the same thing but could not back anything she said with a consumer law..Finally I get to the question of exactly by name who does these reviews that cause people who are good customers to get a decrease in their credit line? Guess what? Its not a person..Its a computer and Discover justs mails out the letters and does the decrease based on what the computer spit out!!! Now Im really nervous!!! Im not even worth a person as a customer!! When I realized the manager knew very little or even less than the trainee I didnt want to waste another 15 minutes,,so I look up Discover and see they have a Excutive Customer Advocacy Office and a Portfolio Verification Team..let me assure you All they have is a computer and some smartassed trainees whos job is to answer a telephone ..If Discover approved me for a credit line and I did nothing to cause a decrease in that credit line then why arent they at least explaining their reasons for the decrease? And why do they refer their customers to Transunion? I never applied for a credit card from Transunion..This is a complete sham put on the unsuspecting public..the behind the scenes with these companies is a whole different story..Expect to see multiple lawsuits in the near future on these idiiots. And dont ever get a Discover Card..they wil ruin your credit!!
Account got behind and was caught up with full payment to bring the account current 4/24/15 before charge off deadline with customer service associate X. (I have their name and time stamp of call) I gave her a debit card over the phone and I got a confirmation number for the payment after it went through. She called to cancel the REPO on it. A few days later, I had the repo guy call me to repo the unit. I called Synchrony Bank to see what in the world is going on. I got several different answers from several diffrent asssociates. After talking to numerous customer service reps, one confirmed that service associate X used the wrong form- they called it a "downtime form" to process the payment. Supposedly this form can only be used to process checks and not the debit card... They said that their supervisor will look into it and call me back same day as this was an emergency given the repo guy was in my yard. He never returned my call. I attempted to leave a message on his direct line but his VM was full. The next day, I talked to another customer service rep and they also confirmed that the supervisor was still working on it. An hour later, the repo guy calls me saying he has to pick the unit up as its in Active repo status.
I called again. This time the rep said that even though I have proof, confirmation numbers etc that Synchrony Bank may clearlybe at fault- to surrender the unit or pay the $8000 that's left owed on it... That it was my tough luck even if they messed up. There were a few very helpful customer service reps and then there were one's that were very disrepsectful. The supervisor has decided to not deal with me and clean this mess up. He will not call me back to re-process the payment, which is all I was asking for. It feels like this supervisor is protecting the customer service rep in question (maybe some favoritism going on). I cannot get anyone to give me the phone number for his supervisor. He is just plain lazy and trying to save the time & effort to make this right. Since there is a lot of equity in the unit, I feel like they are stealing thousands of dollars from me. I had no warning- I could have sold the unit for a lot of money and paid it off in full. This is dishonest dealings at its finest. I will be looking for legal representation and looking to hold the supervisor of this dept responsible for not doing their job, covering up incompetence and stealing money from a customer. On top of that, lying, deceiving and surrounding the situation so he cannot be held accountable... THESE PEOPLE ARE THIEVES. I would strongly advise anyone doing business with this financial institution to move the loan, record all conversations, keep diaries, notes & confirmation numbers. They will TEST you to see what records you have kept and use that info against you. I kept everything.
As an Amazon customer, I was offered to open an acct. to what is called a "Store Card" which I accepted. I hardly used it except to take advantage of the initial offer which was a "one time discount" on the first purchase which was soon paid for. After a long time of no activity, I received an email from this bank saying that I owed them $12.00. I called them to question the charge and the told me that I had a charge of $5.32 from a Nov 12 purchase (which, after checking my Amazon Acct, I had no record or recollection of making) plus a $7.00 late fee. I then told the agent that I never received a notice prior to the late asseslment and it was unfair on their part. A the end of our conversation the agent agreed to remove the cahrges w/o an argument or explanation; however this means that, had I never contested this charge, I would have been hit with it. How many times do they do this on the course of a day, and to how many folks that perhaps are too busy to catch this ripoff. This fee is unconscionable! in terms of an interest rate, it represents a rate equal to approximately 120% monthly rate. .......can this be now be legally allowed in America? we've just lost all sence of honesty and fairness in this country; shame!!
I use a third party provider to monitor my credit and balances on my account. Synchrony is the only bank that does not allow this provider access to my account. When I contacted their customer service, this is the response I received: "At this time, we do not provide access to Synchrony Bank account(s) via these third-party tools. Please know that protecting any personal information provided to us is one of our primary objectives, and we continue to work closely with these third-party service providers to ensure they meet data security standards and are fully compliant with regulatory requirements before enabling these sites to access your account details."
I have accounts with four of the top ten largest market share credit card issuers. They sync fine with my credit monitor company. Synchrony is a farce if they think that their standards are any higher than the other companies that hold 98.7% of the market share.
And when presented with my issue, their customer service instructed me to send a fax or a letter. They refused to direct a manager speak to me. Lowes should sever all business ties with this company.
In spite of my attempts to cancel the above referenced account, your organization, along with Ashley Furniture Homestores, are attempting to harass and extort monies from my family and I. I intend to pursue any legal means possible if this is not corrected immediately.
On Saturday, November 1st, my wife and I placed an order with Ashley for Furniture and related items (including tax) totaling $6321.46. At the time we were hesitant, and asked for copies of all related paperwork from Aaron at Ashley. I even asked for promissory paperwork, including signed cancellation policies. Both are attached.
On Sunday, November 2nd, my wife and I returned to the same location, and cancelled the entire order. In spite of their protests, we demanded something in writing, including a sign off from the store manager (part of the reason we chose to cancel was the very poor reports on the internet regarding Ashley Furniture….hence, our insistence on having everything in writing). The cancellation sign off is also attached. Signed sealed and entirely cancelled, right?
When we placed this order, we signed up for the 5-years same as cash through Synchrony bank. Because of Ashley Furniture’s reputation as a semi-fraudulent (at worst), or completely incompetent (at best) company, we called Synchrony Bank on Monday morning, November 3rd, to make SURE the account was clear, and we asked that it be CANCELLED immediately, if not entirely disregarded. We were assured it would be cancelled, and never charged a single penny.
On, or about, November 6th, a Federal Express delivery notification was left on our door. It did not state who the package was from. We signed it without regard to sender. It was delivered shortly thereafter. Our youngest son took it in our home and opened it. According to our son, It had NOTHING stating it was from Ashley Furniture. He thought it was from Haverty’s (who we DID end up placing a much smaller order with). Nevertheless, we deduced it was from Ashley, since we had not ordered the same from Haverty’s. We wrapped the rug back up for return.
In the next day or so, before I even had a chance to call Ashley, I received an Automated call from Ashley stating that “our furniture” (the entire $6321.46 load) was ready for delivery. I called the 800 number and advised them the order had been immediately cancelled, and that we would return the rug. They said the rug came from a third party, and would need to be returned to same. They would issue a return authorization.
For the last week, we have continued to receive harassing calls from Ashley Furniture. Up to 8 CALLS A DAY each (my wife and I) trying to deliver the entire load of furniture. We have tried calling both the local store, and the 800#. We have talked to Ricky, Tam and Terry at the store. All have assured us this issue would be taken care of. The calls have continued many times per day. Yesterday (November 15th), my wife called the store and became very vocal with the Store Manager here in Murfreesboro (Terry). He yelled at my wife and stated “he did all HE could do”. She hung up on him.
Today, Sunday November 16th, I received notification, via Creditkarma that a new account has been added to my credit report. Low and behold, it is Synchrony Bank/Ashley Furniture. After logging in, I realized that, not only was the account left opened, but I have now been charged $329.24 (note the attached web page printout).
Neither company has the right to work in collusion against my family’s best interests. I followed all of Ashley Furniture’s “rules” for cancellation (in spite of how intentionally they are set against the consumer). I called your financial institution IMMEDIATELY to make sure nothing was left opened. I consider this a failure on the part of Synchrony. All monies need to be CREDITED, AND THE CREDIT ACCOUNT CLOSED IMMEDIATELY. You, Synchrony Financial, have a responsibility TO THE CONSUMER. WE are the ones who use your services. WE are the ones who pay your fees. This is a conspiracy to commit extortion, and I intend to pursue it as such if nothing is done. I expect a response immediately.
It is up to Ashely Furniture to properly CANCEL orders and pick up improperly shipped items. You owe NOTHING to this incompetent organization. You owe ME, your CUSTOMER, a proper response and an apology. It is Sunday morning. I should be spending this time with my FAMILY. Instead, here I am considering legal options. Very sad indeed.
So i received a letter stating my account has been closed even tho i had a zero balance and a perfect payment history. The reason for my account closure was due to a negiting reporting from another comapny that was later reversed. Im pissed because the closing of the account dropped my credit score 65 points. Stay away from this credit company.
Synchrony Bank bought GE Capital and lowered my credit limit for no reason. I made my paments on time every month and they punished me for it. I immediately cut up my card. They are a bad credit company and people should stay away. They wouldn't even own up to their decision blaming it on the credit report. Beware of Synchrony Bank
Received my motorcycle loan for Kawasaki through GE Capital Retail Bank at 0.00% APR. By the time the monthly bill arrives, you have about 7 days to send the payment before it's "late". I sent it the next day a few times, from CO to GA. How long can that possibly take? I always see the check posted to my bank account either on the day its due or a few days after. Then they hit me with a $40 late fee. I'm positive that they do this on purpose since my loan has no interest payments. This was done to me more than 5 times before I decided just to pay off the loan in its entirety to get rid of this company. Then they charged me a late fee during the final payment. Wow.
