A year ago I ordered a magazine through SynpaseConnect, Inc. My subscription expires in June of this year. I recently received a notice from Synapse that my subscription would be auto-renewed for a price almost three times the price I paid for the original subscription. The notice provided a phone number for me to call if I wished to stop the auto-renewal. I called that number three times, each time getting a recording telling me that the number is invalid.
I then called the magazine's customer service department and was given another number to use to call Synapse. I called that number and got a recording with no option to speak with a human being! The recording advised that my auto-renewal will be stopped and that I will receive six more issues of that magazine for a much lower price. There was no option to opt out of receiving the next six issues.
I had to call three numbers to get my auto-renewal stopped, and I'm not satisfied with the results. Regardless of how cheap the next six issues of the magazine will be, I don't want the extension. In six months, I'll have to go through this all over again!
I checked the BBB's grading of Synapses. The company is given a grade of A+, despite the number of complains that the BBB has received about this company. I've now lost my faith in the BBB and will never order another magazine from a third party!!
