My husband bought a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses for $375 in south Portland Maine. After only wearing them home in the car for an hour drive, he decided to keep his older pair and return this new pair. When we went back to return them a week later, the sales associate immediately passed them off to her manager. The manager then proceeded to aggressively rub them with a cloth and dragging her nails over a lense. She then looked at us and said they were damaged! We explained they were only worn an hour so they must have been sold to him that way. She insisted they would never have sold them that way so no refund. Their return policy is obviously a scam! She had absolutely no intention of accepting any return from us and it was clear. We still can't find any damage on the lenses and have even had them inspected at our local vision center. We will NEVER spend another dime in that store or any other Sunglasses Hut again!!
Few days ago, I've purchased 2 pairs of sunglasses from Sunglass Hut during the 70% off event after Black Friday. The only reason I bought one for myself was because the Prada one was for my dearest mother for Christmas.
When I first received an email stating the discount available, I immediately went on Sunglass Hut- only to find the "Prada" glasses -out of stock.
So after exactly 48hrs later, the Prada that I wanted was available online, so I quickly purchased the Prada and another then and there.
So 3 days later, I receive an e-mail saying that I've cancelled my email. Here's a brief copy of it due to limited characters available for complaint.
CHANGE OF HEART?
No problem, we've cancelled your order. But keep in mind our 90-day no questions asked exchange policy and free shipping & returns for next time. We'll even give you 50% off a new pair if you lose or break your frames within the first 12 months.

#when I've never cancelled the order but they said I had a change of heart. Why would I have a change of heart a week before Christmas and it was a gift for my mother.
Why would I do that?
Then this is my reply, 2-3 minutes after I received the "Change of Heart" email, I sent out an e-mail stating that I never did such a thing and that I never cancelled my order.
Then today, I received another e-mail saying:

#And James from Sunglass Hut states, He understands how I may have been confused by the wording of their email. Are you freaking serious???
A change of heart e-mail stating that I as a customer cancelled my order then a fellow rep of Sunglass Hut states that I have been wrong.
Now because of your illegal unmoral business practices, I have to call a day of work to buy a gift for my mother.
#Not to mention that they still mailed out the sunglasses that I never wanted without the PRADA, NOW I have to 1) wait for their delivery. Be present, 2) then package it again for return, 3)call the UPS guy and wait for him to pick up, 4) now wait for the money to be refunded back into my account.
Luckily, I believe in saving and I have enough money to wait out the return. But what if, someone who spends their last dollars on a Sunglass Hut gift, only to find out that they waiting for 3 days to let you know that your order has been cancelled by "YOU". Now, imagine waiting another 3-5 business days for the package, re-packaging for return and YOU will be refunded ONLY when they've received your package.
Luckily, I graduated last year. If I was still studying at Baruch College, then I would have no money left for my mother's gift.
Am I the only one??
SOMEBODY NEEDS TO PUNISH THESE BUSINESS THAT ARE AGAINST THE INTEREST OF THE PUBLIC AND WILL DO ANYTHING TO MAKE A PROFIT.
