They send you a notification by mail. The return address in the back of the envelope reads: PO Box 9084 Clearwater, FL 33758. They say were trying to reach you regarding a prize of $1,000,000 and gives an ID number to claim by December 25, 2014. They also give you a toll free number to call which is 1-866-308-1017. They also say that if not hear from you by the deadline, this entry ID number will be disqualified and any cash payouts associated with it forfeited. At the bottom there is a signature: E. Wright. The cash payment options are $36,666.67 payable each year for 30 years or an immediate lump sum payment of $550,000.00
I got the same letter today. It is my second notification and you're right, it does look very official...with one exception! There is no corporate stamp. If someone was going to give me $520,000.00 don't you think they have thier emblem all over it taking full advantage of this opportunity to bragging rights.
This is the third time I have recieved a letter from the company in question. This harrassment from a company which makes it's appearance seem like Publisher's Clearing House, is just a rip-off. I urge anyone and everyone to do their research. I could have lost money if I hadn't paid attention.
these Aholes are at it again right before Christmas too. Since I got a PO I alerted the cops in Clearwater to Nab these crooks. I hate this type of mail.
Scam! Do not call them... They do not give in... They constantly go over and over again about the magazines, and you keep telling them that you're not purchasing, but they were act like they don't hear you!
Firstly, I didn't enter any contest like that. Secondly, I figured all they really wanted was my phone number so they could bug me for eternity. I think they should line up people like this and kick them in the tender parts.
Have some fun with them and they pay for 1-800 call
Just be careful with them because they have caller id and they say it is being recorded probably to get your commitment to a magazine order. They pretended to not hear me say I don't read magazines and only watch tv. I finally told them I can't read well and they try to transfer me to another telemarketer selling something else like vacations. Be careful not to let them know what credit card your use- they ask you if you use Visa, MasterCard or Discover but yet they say you are in the sweepstake because you are a loyal credit card user and they don't even know which cc you use. Bottom line is they are trying to sell you magazine subscription by recording your voice agreeing to it.
I got that letter with the toll free number, ID #, and deadline. So did many of my neighbors. We all discussed it and realized this is a scam. $36,666.67 payable for each year for 30 years for a contest we never entered or heard about. No way. This E. Wright should be E. Wrong. I would not call that number for any reason.

Repeating that I don't want magazines, she kept making offers with the attitude that they're doing me a favor . "Pick two". Reading the no purchase required clause was irrelevant. "Pick two". She finally offered to connect me with some vacation offers to which I gladly responded "yes"( to get away!), then the connection was busy. After all the effort and hassle, I still don't think I was entered.
