On July 2, 2014, our air conditioning went out at our house. The temperature outside was 94-95 degrees while inside the house, the temperature was 94 degrees.
We contacted Stokesdale Heating and Air who determined that our dual air capacitor had gone bad while the service technician stated this was a common problem in intense heat. The service technician replaced the bad capacitor with a new one.
Today (7-8-2014,) we received the bill and they charged us $148.67 for the part. I looked on the internet and could find that exact same part for anywhere between $30 and $50. What a ripoff!
