I went into Stockers Motorcycles on 3/20/2015 looking for a replacement fender for a 99 Yamaha Roadstar that was damaged after someone conducted a hit and run on it. The fender was dented and the paint was chipped. However when I arrived at the shop they didn't have a fender is the specific color that I required. They could repair and paint the fender to match verbally. They said that could make it match the existing color when I prompted a response, again verbally and said that it would cost approx. 275 dollars which was comparable with other shops I had gotten quotes for about the same job. I left the fender and asked if they had a military discount, to which they said they would cover the sales tax and I paid $140 dollars up front for the repairs. Almost a month later on April 14, 2015 I received a called from Stockers Motorcycles and I went to pickup the fender on April 22, 2015. First off they didn't honor the agreed terms of them covering the sales tax, but it wasn't in writing.
I ended up paying $159.06, bringing the total to $299.06 which isn't my main dispute. When the part was brought out it didn't appear to match the bike right off the bat, but was told that it was painted to code and that it would look better on the bike and we put on in the parking lot. When I got home I cleaned and buffed the rest of the bike for approx 3 hours to attempt to get the older paint to shine and match the new, but it still sticks out like a sore thumb to me as well as many others. I called the shop seeking a remedy, but was only told that it was painted to code and that the only solution was to paint the rest of the bike since it was old and faded. Additionally he mentioned that there were others who had the same complaints and that I was more than welcome to file complaints as if he didn't even care to resolve the problem aside from being contracted for more work. Additionally I have sense found out that he isn't insured or bonded for this type of issue.
There is a reason that this place is a less than A with the BBB. I'd take business elsewhere if you are looking for anything aside from junk parts. And even then I'd think twice before dealing with this place.
Found them on EBAY, when you go to the site you put in parts requested, they send an email right away saying they have your parts, well 3 weeks later no parts, you call them and they say they are sooooooooo busy they cant fill the order.
The next time I called they are still waiting on the parts... " so you took my money not having the parts?" The girl got real nasty then!! I said cancel my order. Before I could talk about my refund she hung up! I called back and she is just plain me to beleive they are just floating peoples money!
