I have Homeowner insurance through Geico, which in turn has my insurance for my home through Stillwater Insurance, I believe the main office is in Florida. They kept sending out someone to inspect my property, but they keep saying that the inspector reports that they cannot inspect my home because it is locked in a gated community. I do not live in a gated community, there is no fence, no gates and am in the middle of Oregon out in the country. I am in a small town (800 people), with the town museum across the street from my dirt driveway. My driveway has a sign with my name on it.
So they say they are going to close my account and cancel my insurance, I try to find out where they are going to, and tell them they must have the wrong address. I tell them I want to talk to soemone to make sure they go to the right address, but they tel me I cannot speak to anyone, and that soemone will cal me,. but they never do. My wife said soemone called a few days ago, but their English was so bad she could not understand them. Same thing happened with me, while I kept asking to talk to the so called inspector, the broken English was intolerable, and rude, telling me I could not speak to whoever was coming out again!
This has been going on a long time and has screwed up my insurance proof with my lender. I am not going through this any longer. Stillwater is totally incompetent and refuses to communicate. I already filled out one complaint for Geico, because they are part of this mess and maybe giving out the wrong address to these insurance underwriters, but sonce everyone refuses to communicate, it is hard to know who is doing what. Again, this has been going on for several months. I have tried many times to fix this mess, but these people just wil not attempt to fix their attitude. I have had it with their terrible service!
The details of my ordeal with this company are too detailed and frustrating to list here. All I can say is if given the choice, don't sign with them! They are disorganized, inefficient, and unresponsive. Shame on Geico for having an affiliation with such a terrible company!
I signed up with what was then Fidelity expecting the same type of excellent service I received from Geico. Not so! They are disorganized, evasive, and don't return phone calls. Calls to to supervisors yield no results so you are left to either give up filing your claim (which I get the impression is what they're hoping for), or brace yourself for a long, long, battle. Shame on Geico for sub-contracting with such an inefficient company. Meanwhile I'm at their mercy until renewal time when I will promptly cancel, remaining at a loss at how they can get away with treating customers this way and remain in business!
Have multiple accounts with these people on rentals-no problem taking my money! Had renters in the house-there "inspector" supposedly went by and didn't see anyone living there-so they cancelled my policy-I received a cancelled check 15 days after it was cancelled-IF there had been an issue during this time-I could have been totally wiped out! They really didn't care and had a really lousy attitude-so sorry man! (kind of a "Bummer dude" response I would expect from a teenage minimum wage worker) if I could give them lower-I would!
