This is to follow up and support Mr. Larry Meholick's complaint re Steven Ferris, Costa Rican Attorney with my own experience. In 1999 I signed a contract to purchase land from a client of Steve Ferrisn in Costa Rica, a Mr. Jan Groene. They formed my company while i was away working in USA. Years later I discovered 20% of the land could not be delivered under Costa Rica law, which they were both aware of, because they filed the full amount I purchased in the local Municipality, and the reduced amount in the National Registrry. Despite many promises I am still awaiting restitution from Mr. Groene.
In addition, Ferris and Groene comppletely mismanaged my Corporation that owned the land. When I collected my Company Books, I discovered instead of 10 shareas being issued on a yearly basis as I paid down the debt, only the first two had been printed, and then lost (dumped) in a dead file. When I requested the shares, they said they had been given to me and I must have lost them. Finally Ferris discovered his mistake and against my wishes issued only one share dated 7 years later than it should have been.
Later I discovered in a file given to me by Groene when we finally parted company, that he and Ferris held a secret meeting where they gave 60% of my Corporation to a Mr. John (aka Jack) Osborne, the same person mentioned in Larry Meholicks complaint. Ferris claimed it was "a clerical erroe" attorneys who have examined the document, which was entered into the National Registry, say that explanation is impossible. At the time they gave John Osborne 60% of my Corporation, I had already paid for 66% of the shares. Later they held another clandestine meeting to cancel the transaction with Osbore I was never informed of any of these meetings. Groene denies all knowledge of Osborne even though he has been Ferris's RE partner for years, and Groene's name is on the document gising away 60% of my company.
Ferris is on the Board of Directors of the Tico Times, the biggest circulation and longest established English language newspaper in Coosta Rica. Ironically, he writes articles on how to set up and run a Corporation in Costa Rica. Mr. Meholick has presented his facts to the Editor of the Tico Times, but he doesn't seem concerned that one of his Board members is under criminal indictment. I have seen Mr. Meholick's evidence;cerel it is both impeccable and irrefutable.
