Stephanie Ann Harrington was hired to do family portraits for my family, which consists of 4 underage children. She contacted be through Facebook, and wanted to work out a deal that would benefit both of us. She did our pictures in October 2014. Stephanie then sent edited photos with her water mark 'Sirois Photography' and stated that I could share as long as her water mark was not removed. She also stated that she would be sending a disk, so that I could print my families photos. She claimed to have sent the disk in the mail, and then informed me she was looking for a family to do their photos for free. I referred my sister, who has two children, one of which is special needs. My sister met Stephanie and had her photos done.
A few weeks passed and the disk never came in the mail. I messaged Stephanie on Facebook, asking if she sent the disk. She said she did, abd it must have gotten lost in the mail.
I Asked her to send my disk, and my sister's disk to my address, and gave it to her again. The disks, once again, never came. She then said she'd email me the photographs. She never did. I cut my losses, and informed my friends about the situation do it wouldn't happen to them.
Fast forward to January 2015. I was informed that Stephanie was posting on her photography page that I had no rights to use the photographs of my children, even though I already had permission in October. I was also informed that she was using my children's photograph on a public business page on Facebook. I did not give permission for my children to be exposed on a public website as advertisement. When I asked Stephanie to remove my children's photographs (which was accompanied by their last name), she refused and banned me from her Facebook page. I had family contact her as well, at which point she had her friends and family attack them on Facebook. She deleted all comments and reviews, and still will not take down my children's photographs.
Stephanie goes by Stephanie Ann on Facebook, and states her name is Stephanie Sirois. Her Facebook business page at the moment is called Sirois Photography, although she will likely change it. I was informed by my attorney that her legal name is Stephanie Ann Harrington.
Beware: Stephanie is ununprofessional, and only cares about her 'portfolio' even if it means exploiting children, and disregarding the parents wishes to keep their childrens privacy protected. She claims there was 'implied consent', which there was not.
