Richard Stone is a fraudulent individual who will harass you claiming you owe a debt that you in fact do not! He and his fellow scam artists are former U.S. residents who are now based out of the Philippines. They will call you claiming you owe old debts with companies you may or may not have done business with in the past in order to get a hold of your sensitive financial data.
I was contacted recently in one of his phishing scam attempts, in which he first claimed to be employed by a company called Steadman & Steele. When I tried to call him back at Steadman & Steele, they stated that he had been fired for misconduct and is no longer allowed to contact people on their behalf. He then stated that he was with The Carlton Company, which is a non-existant company. He then tried to prove to me that he existed by emailing me via GMAIL.
He used the address [email protected]. When I told him that I knew what he was up to, he suddenly became very defensive and began cursing and arguing.
He has made a multitude of threats that make absolutely no sense and only an idiot would fall for. Like most phishing schemes, he will claim that you face a number of penalties unless you immediately give him your important financial data. Do not be fooled into falling for this blazen scam. Once I filed a report, it was explained to me that these calls were actually originating from the Phillipines, depsite him using a Texas area code. He has active warrants in the United States and is facing extradition once law enforcement can track down his exact location in conjunction with local authorities.
If contacted by this individual, you should NOT confirm any personal data, ESPECIALLY your financial information. The damage to your life is almost irreversible once a skilled ideinity thief such as Richard Stone has your data in his hands!
