Apparently Staybridge Suites Hates the Disabled and Minorities
#1 I had a reservation – long standing reservation; and had stayed at this hotel approximately 4 times
before. During the last stay, his staff had been abrupt and rude especially when I asked them to replace the cartridge in the ADVERTISED BUSINESS CENTER that has everything.
#2 Called as usual on the way to my medical appointment and Staybridge to confirm my reservation and room number, the same room I had on last visit as I am disabled, and I cannot tolerate heat, certain chemicals. Girl answered the phone when I insisted that she verify that the cartridge had been replaced. On the last visit I had been lied to over and over. Instead the general manager “Charlie Monfee got on the phone and said for me to not show up – he was refusing me services. Please note I had a reservation and I have the printout that shows my reservation number and they had sent that email over and over.
I said “Sir, you can't do that, I am a disabled adult, and that is a hate crime and an ADA violation. He said you can go eat $h!+ as far as I am concerned I just canceled your room and Oh I won't charge you a cancellation fee. At this point he hung up on me. What? You are sending a disabled woman, who is more than 3 hours from home, temporarily medically incapacited with no roof, a diabetic, out into the street? A female? In a town where the hotels are usually booked out months in advance?
So is is implied and I believe that he banned me from this hotel as he didn't want me staying there due my disability, hatred for my person and his false advertising regarding services offered but non-existent upon check-in to their facilities. I believe their intent is to take your money and then call the police when you complain as you will see in another similar situation outlined below. That my friends is both a hate crime and fraud.
So the general manager, Charlie Monfee at the Staybridge Suites forced me in a situation where I
was less than substandard for my medical condition; and was also abusive and threatening. This he did with malice aforethought to a:
Disabled Adult
Diabetic
Still receiving post-op care – can't lift luggage etc easily
Can't tolerate heat – it was a 95 degree day
Putting my myself and my medical supplies at risk
Was so distraught could not eat for 2 days;
It should be noted that I was so terrorized by this treatment I went without food and proper shelter for 2 days to meet my commitment for a long standing medical appointment getting ready for a procedure.
So this prompted me to look for other complaints upon my arrival home. I found them on numerous complaint boards. No surprise. One example I found, and I did print out was that of a young black father who had checked into a Staybridge Suites in Savannah, GA. The GM said he was partying, etc and called the police. The real story is that this young man had a 1 yr old that was crying, and when the police came, he was kicked out, they kept his money (probably not financially easy on a young father) and when the police came, the young man overheard the GM, tell the police to get that “N” out of here. Here is a clip from that internet posting from the young father at another Staybridge Suites: start quote [”my room I overheard the GM say "Make sure you call the Police and get that N out of here." The police came and we left. But before leaving we got a print out of what we owed and the deputy’s confirmation from the Manager that the room was fine.”]end quote
Both of these incidents happened at Staybridge Suites in two different cities, run by two different general managers, which tells me that the instructions, discrimination and policy is coming from the top, from headquarters. I am left with the conclusion that Staybridge Suites hates the disabled and minorities.
Please note it is also my opinion that the police officer in the other situation violated this young father's civil rights, and are complicatory with a hate crime. Yet the still charged his credit card? I believe their intent is to rent to us, hit our credit card, with premeditation to kick us out before we even arrive.
It is my opinion that his chain and hotel is engaging in the practice of violating civil rights, ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act), fair housing laws, false advertising and theft by taking, and financial fraud on the Disabled.
So my advice is, if you are disabled or a minority, do not come to Columbus, Georgia unless you hate yourself, expect to be hated, have personnel blow cigarette smoke in your face in defiance of state law
O.C.G.A. 31-12A 4 – the entire chapter deals with No Smoking in Public Places.
Note; I believe this “REFUSING ME SERVICE” has more than one intent behind it.
On the first visit with my spouse we had detected a strong natural gas odor in the hallway outside our door. It was so strong that anything electronic could potentially ignite and blow the place up. I had just identified this odor as a young military couple was about to get on the elevator and begged them to not push the button. The sgt said “OH that smell is always here”. Upon notifying the front desk they said, of we have called out ? And they assure us it is okay. We did not feel comfortable with that answer and did our own investigation which revealed a small gas leak coming out of the dryer area. We had also noted they only seemed to do most of the laundry at night – that is an anomaly for a supposed safe hotel.
