I purchased a warranty for my Asus Laptop in November 2014. In May 2015 it fell and on 5/13 I send it in for repair. On 5/15 I recieved acknowledgement it was received and that there would be a delay in repair for parts to 5/25. On 5/29 (two weeks after they had said it would be repaired) I got an email that the parts were in and that it would be fixed on 6/1. On 6/9 (8 days after they said it would be repaired with the parts they got on 5/29) they sent an email paying the claim for the computer which they said they could not fix. They also said that the hard drive would be sent back and arrive in 2-3 days.
For the past week I have been calling every day and every day I get a new story:
I will email the facotry and call you back (no call)
I will email the factory and call you back (no call)
My supervisor will call the factory and call you back (no call)
I will look into it (I remained on hold for a half hour - no one ever came bacK)
I will call the factory and call you back(Dave- ) This person did call back and say that he had escalated it, that his hands were tied and that someone above him would call me back within 24-48 hours).
First, they're going to fix it, then they can't fix it, and then they can't send me my hard drive, after call after call, and run around story after story.
There is no help except for these front people who apparently have no power to find out where my hard drive it and why it has not been returned.
There are no emails or other phone numbers to reach.
My claim # is 07913570137. I will publicize this callous disregard for service as widely on the internet as I can until my hard drive is returned. This is TERRIBLE service.
I shop at Staples. They have been most reliable for me. When my last camera broke (purchased at BestBuy,) I went to Staples for the new oone. Got it. A decent camera. Today they camera touched my steering wheel and now the lens will not move. Even trying the self diagnosis.
I called Squarre Trade, and they say ""it doesn't matter what the Staples guy said, we dont cover that. And the manufacturer will not cover it either. Too bad. So sad.
But he is refunding my purchase of the warranty. He did that very quickly. To the point, I believe it was a fail safe to get out of replacing my camera.
Staples got rid their last warranty company for not paying or strewing stones in the path (Barrister). They promised me this would be better. Harrumpn! They are worse.
All I wanted what I thought I had purchased. Stay away from Square Trade. And Staples too, if you have to buy something that has the extended warranty.
I hope I save someone a couple of hundred bucks with this report.
Tell your friends, your enemies, your in-laws, and any outlaws you know. Good Luck to you.
Purchased a three year warranty on a Levovo desk top all in one computer was told that a tech would come to my house to repair it and then recieved a call from a repairman (so called) from a forgien country and he kept telling me to buy a new keyboard and then call him back my keyboard was not broken . After many emails to square trade and long holds on the telephone 25 to 45 miuntes my computer is still not fixed. I have a status summary that states they are locating a faclity for my repair and now my computer has been broken for over three weeks.
Under my Square Trade warranty I sent in a white 2009 Macbook 13 in pristine condition. I have had the used Macbook and warranty for about a year and a half. Several months ago we discovered the computer had reduced sound volume (my wife never uses sound so we did not notice before) and a UBS port that provided power but did not function. I had forgetton until recently that we had a warranty. The computer was in immaculate physicial condition with a hard case and keyboard cover. Square Trade indicated that normal turnaround was 2-3 once received. 8 days after their receipt I called for a status and was told they did not have one and would contact the repair depot. I called 3 more times befoe they reported that the delay had been needed parts and that the parts should be there soon and the computer should ship within 2 days of repair. There was no mention about the change in operating status of the computer. 2 days later i receive a call indicating that the depot had discovered a water exposure indication on the logic board and the computer would not be repaired. They said they were going to refund my warranty and return the computer. Still no mention that it no longer worked. When i got it back it had dirty finger prints on it and the case was broken from the inside out at the power button. When I pressed the button to power on the computer was dead. Inside the box with the computer was a plastic bag with 9 screws. I plugged the computer into power tio make sure it was not just a dead battery. Nope, it was a dead computer. I called Square Trade and they told me to send pictures (which I did) and they would escalate the issue. 2 days later they called and said the screws were not discovered until the computer had been put back together and there was nothing more they would or could do. The dead computer had come from the logic board exposure according to them. Apple disagrees. Square Trade ofered to put the screws back into the computer if I returned it but they did not offer any additional explanation of the dirt, breaks or total failure. Just if I would return it they would put the sccrews back into the dead computer. Since then I contacted Sophie, the Square Trade agent, and she said she would escalate this once again for answers. 8 days later I have received no answer, even after having called and left messages 3 times and sent several emails. I have never had any issue with Square Trade before but this is totally wrong. There is a marked diference between we will not repair your computer and we are sending you a dirty dead computer with a broken case and a bag of loose screws.
