I ordered spray foam to have my attic sprayed. They showed up with three guys and vacuumed out my batted insulation. On the second day, the same three guys showed up to spray my attic. One of the guys that was with this crew had never done this type of work before and this was his second day. My job was his first. About halfway through the job, 1230 pm, the equipment they were using broke down and they spent 6 hours drivng around Atlanta to find replacement parts and didn't get back working on the job till 630 pm. When they got back working, I asked them when they would be finished and they stated 12 midnight. A 2 a.m. the job was finally complete (so I thought). During the spraying the experienced crew members allowed the new guy to spray, he stepped between the rafters and almost fell through my ceiling. The worker did tell me what he had done and said he had experience fixing sheetrock and that he would repair it. The worker then went to Home Depot and bought several different types of popcorn (ceiling texture) and spent a couple hours trying to fix the ceiling he messed up. I explained to him that to save time, I had some sheetrock and that he could just cut out the bad part and put up a piece of the good sheetrock. Instead, he pushed the cracked sheetrock back up into the ceiling and spackled over it. He then tried to spray the texture on the ceiling and got more all over my garage than the ceiling. He then stated that he could not fix it correctly and that they would send out someone who specializes in repair work. Weeks go by and no one has come out. I call and no one answers. About 2 months later I finally reached someone and they said that they weren't aware of the repair. They never sent out a rep after the job like they were supposed to, to follow up on things. I never received a wireless attic thermometer as promised. The thermometer is to lets me know what the temp is in the attic. ($150 or more value) they charged my card for the whole job of $4900. Also on their website they have a link to Georgia Power who offers a rebate up to $300 for insulation upgrades. 1 month after the job, I called and spoke with a receptionist (Bobbi), who stated that she would mail my paperwork to Georgia Power for my rebate. 4 months go by and still no rebate. I called Ga Power and they didn't have record of it. My wife also called and spoke to John concerning the ceiling and the rebate. She too was told that the rebate had been filed and he would have someone come out to fix it the next week. Still nobody showed and Ga Power still did not have a record of the job for the rebate. Finally this past week John (Owner) emailed me a form that I have to sign and put my acct number on for the Ga Power rebate. This tellls me that Bobbi could've in no way mailed that form, unless she signed my name. All during this time my ceiling is still not fixed properly. A worker came out this week with another can of popcorn (texture) and then asked me if I had a can of white spray paint. He used my can of white spray paint and sprayed the bad patch job on my garage ceiling. Now it looks like I have a waterstained ceiling that I am trying to hide. I told Spray Foam Services that they could cut me a check for a contractor to come out and fix it appropriately or he could send a professional to fix it. He responded by saying that he is tied up for the next 2 weeks.

I am tired of this mess and I want my ceiling fixed. The job was done in April, charged in June and is still not complete. Below is a copy of the charge on 6/27/2014. and a copy of emails between me and Spray Foam Services. SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE!!!!!

I authorized Mr. Hartsfield to charge my Credit Card account for 50% of an attic insulation job on April 25th. We had an agreement that I would pay the remaining balance due when the job was completed. To this he agreed. After the crew left my home I noticed that old insulation was left in the attic (he had charged me $400 to remove the old insulation), that an area of the attic that was to be coated with 1-3 inches of foam had no foam applied and the crew had removed all the items from my attic and had not put them back nor had I received any receipt for my down payment.

I decided to wait for Mr. Hartsfield to contact me for the final payment and I would tell him of the unfinished business at that time. After two weeks I became suspicious because he never did contact me. I checked my Credit Card balance and saw that Mr. Hartsfiled had helped himself to the other half of the payment on May 1. This charge to my account was made without my knowledge or my authorization. In fact, I had no intention of paying the second 50% out of this account.

So, today I have an unfinished attic and since Mr. Hartsfield has helped himself to my credit card account, he is paid in full. He also said there was a lifetime warranty on his product and his work that was transferable to the next owner for which I have yet to see any paperwork. And, after repeated requests for a receipt he has yet to provide that as well. In fact I haven't received the first shread of paperwork on this job.

I would say Mr. Hartsfiled would make a good politician. He talks a big show in the sales pitch but plies his own agenda when no one is watching.

I'm not down on foam insulation. I still believe it is a good investment. I was taken in by this charlatan. If you want foam sprayed in your home, don't go patronize John Hartsfield. He'll agree to anything to get the sale but underneath, he is a liar and a crook.
