NEW YORK, NY - NOV. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- An eight-month pregnant Westport resident and her Goldman Sachs executive husband were threatened of bannishment and removal from the restaurant Spotted Horse Tavern, Westport, CT by Manager Peter Menonna after rightfully complaining about their meals.
On November 07, 2014, the pregnant patron came to the nearly empty restaurant and sat at the bar for an early dinner at approximatly 7PM and what happened next has outraged them and they say that they intend to petition the State of Connecticut's Liqour Commission to revoke or suspend Spotted Horse Tavern's liquor license, because they allege Menonna was intoxicated. At the same time, they say that they will complain to the Department of Health.
"I think this Peter Menonna was intoxicated and I want to let the State of Connecticut's Liquor Commission know this." She added; I am 8-months pregnant, I came to the Spotted Horse Tavern in good faith, with my husband after picking him up from the train for an early dinner."
She stated; "Before I knew it, Peter Mennona, Spotted Horse Tavern Co-owner was at our side threatening us, asserting that we made disparaging remarks to his bartender, and that we always complain and will be bannished from the place and that we should leave now." The complainants added; "We were basically interrogated by the towering Mennona for complaining about our order repeatedly coming out wrong."
In a a recent Westport Now article, Owner and local entrepreneur Tommy Febbraio said; "Spotted Horse Tavern" a place you can go to two to three times a week and it doesn’t break your wallet.”
The complainant responded to Febbraio's quote; "Break your wallet?.... "TYou are charging nearly $20.00 for a Burger that comes out repeatedly wrong and quite apparently appears like someone ate the food off the plate between the kitchen and the table, when it comes out. It will break my wallet if I am not getting what I pay for, Mr. Febbraio."
Peter Menonna is a co-owner of the Spotted Horse Tavern, The Goose and Little Goose, all Fairfield County restaurant. Complainat states that Mr. Menonna ripped the tab out of the patrons hand and demanded to pay their bill, while telling them to leave and not to come back, at which time, the Complainants, took the tab back and paid their bill.
"We ordered our food and it appeared that someone ate off of our plate. A serious issue that should be taken serious. The server, made excuse after excuse, rather than correcting the problem. Expecting corrective action by the manager, we were approached by what appeared to be an intoxicated Peter Menonna, with slured speech and outlandish accusations that were baseless." When we tried to explain to him that his servier was repeatedly messing up our dinner order, he became enraged and threatening."
The patrons took the check from Menonna, while asserting to him that they did not need or require his charity, paid and left without tipping. They added; "It's a sad day in the town of Westport, CT when you can't get an $18.00 Hamburger delivered to your table without it looking like your plate had been eaten off of." She went on; "Mr. Menolla fails to realize that he is merely a visitor in the town of Westport his days in the town will be short lived if he continues treating pregnant patrons and behaving disgracefully. I am bemused by restuarants like this that spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to open thier doors and then treat their patrons disgracefully.
