Second visit: double-creased torn-up pair of suit pants. These are the only suit pants I have and were tailored. This is in May.
Pants were damaged in May with hooks ripped from fly, and fabric torn off at site.
By late June after contact with onsite staff and district manager I've finally spoken to owner Heath Bolin, who was not exactly the nicest guy to deal with and that's putting it mildly.
The policy when an item is damaged beyond repair is to take possession of said item and recompense you for the cost of a replacement. I refused to surrender the pants that were damaged because I didn't feel I should be penalized for their error (Mr Bolin contested that an 'error' had been made at all).
The repair they'd attempted was so subpar that I didn't even know what to say; the old hooks had been torn from the pants as well as about a half-inch of fabric and they no longer fit. With missing fabric, poorly-placed new hooks (that don't even line up with the new eyes--the old ones didn't need removal!) and visible funky stitching they sure don't fit any longer.
They're the only pair of suit pants I had. Mr Bolin refused to budge on his policy, and he heavily implied I was out to get a 'free' pair of pants from him by claiming the "perfect repair" was faulty and that I had "no use " for the old pants and thus no reason to keep them, never mind that they, yanno, belong to me. He hardly let me speak and wouldn't accept a compromise.
He stated the old pants would be "donated to charity." Forgive me, sir, but what's a hundred bucks to your business? What's a hundred bucks to me, and the only pair of pants I had that fit (and looked bloody sharp)? What's a month and a half without them? Why would I go through these bloody hoops to scam him out of something that is mine to begin with? I should have paid attention to the many online reviews. (Seriously. Check Google, Yelp--blech.)
Recurring problems and outright damage seem to be typical. Mr Bolin's attitude was rude, he was loud, he interrupted me frequently or spoke over me, and he stated outright that he "didn't care what I wanted" twice and that I had two options--his way or the highway. I told him this was unacceptable and I was firm in requesting recompense and that I did not have to surrender my damaged article for his business' error, and he said I could call back when I decided, and he hung up.
All I bloody want is recompense for the damaged pants so I can replace them. I do NOT want to surrender said damaged pants because they do not bloody belong to this business and this was not my bloody mistake.
Perhaps one day I can lose weight and fit into them, after the hook-and-eyes are fixed by a proper tailor. I don't see how me keeping these pants is a slight against the business, which claims I'm cheating them for what was not an 'error.' Exactly what is a hundred bucks to this business? These pants aren't just another hundred bucks to me. They were my only pair of suit pants and my only pair that fit right and looked good. I'd worn them all of three times total only to have them damaged and ill-repaired and then to be berated by the business owner after I patiently went through the process to contact him and state my case. He met me with a brick wall and implied I was lying several times, and refused to listen and spoke over me. I just want recompense so I can get a new pair of pants. That's all. He absolutely does not deserve to have the pants his business ruined when they don't belong to him. He says he's "buying" the damaged pants from me. I'm not selling them!!
