I purchased an ATV from Solid ATVs for my 12 year old daughter for Christmas. The rear fender was broken off during shipping. I sent an email to the company and they failed to respond. foloow up emails were sent and they requested pictures of the damage. I waited for their response. When I contacted them again they said they had no record of my emails and it was now beyond the warranty period. I urge you to consider other options when purchasing an ATV or other vehicle from SolidATVs

The ATV purchased was the APACHE MINI ELECTRIC - 350watt. According to the information on SolidATVs website, "The ATVs are completely assembled in the factory and fully tested. Wheels and handle bars are removed after testing."

With the exception of the handle bars being removed, there is no way in the world that this vechicle could have been completely assembled and fully tested at the factory.

First off, the wheels were actually on (which could have been a good thing) but the front ones were unmoveable. Also there were other parts and hardware (some neatly packaged, some loose in the shipping crate) that were not listed nor mentioned in the directions, which, by the way, were totally useless anyway.

I called the company, during what should have been normal business hours, but only could get their voicemail. I left a message, indicating the issues and asked for assistance. I followed up with two emails (one sent using their webform and one sent directly to their "info" email address). No replies.

With Christmas only a few days away, I hired a professional mechanical engineer to try to assemble the vehicle. The frame was so poorly constructed that he had to disassemble almost everything and manually realign many areas of the frame to get all the parts to mesh with another, including the wheels.

There is literally no way in the world that this vehicle could have been completely assembled and factory tested!

In addition, the welds were so badly done, on several exposed areas of the frame that there were dangerous protrusions and sharp edges, one of which needed to be hacksawed off and the others filed down and wrapped in tape to ensure their safety.

I attempted to contact SolidATVs.com the next day (during normal business hours) and once again was sent to their voicemail. I followed up with an email expressing my dissatisfaction with the product, noting that it was at best a factory second, and not at all a new, fully functional vehicle. I requested a refund of about 30% of the purchase price to at least cover the money I paid to have a professional address the defects and get the product operational. And, just like my previous attempts to contact the company for assistance, this correspondence was ignored.

I very highly recommend that, if you are considering purchasing a product from this company, you look elsewhere.

BEWARE, This company will not see that your products are repaired for what they call minor damage. Here is what there web site states:

Minor cosmetic damage due to shipping (i.e. small cosmetic scratches on plastic) are not covered under our warranty and is not grounds for a return. Remember you are getting these units at wholesale pricing and you receive these units just as a dealer would. Which is a great way to save money by cutting out the middleman profit and ordering directly from us, the supplier. Don't worry though, if a mirror is cracked or missing or something like that, although it is very rare that this happens, then we will definitely send you out a replacement part.

They are trying to say you are getting such a good deal that you should just swallow any minor Damage in shipping. Here is what the individual said to me in emails. This individual did not identify him or herself but eluded he has owned car dealerships. He or she should know the laws and furthermore be reputable and fix these things for there customers.

This as said:

For your information touch up at a car dealership is not considered damage and does not have to be disclosed. No a repaint of any area does. There is a difference. I don't know any online company that will warranty minor cosmetic scratches. They might give you the touch up paint, but not a new body panel unless it is cracked or damaged, just like we do.

I have bought an ATV from another company and it came in all scratched from shipping damage, the company sent me all replacement panels. I'm not here to advertise for any company so I will nit state the company just do your homework before buying.

i was in the car bisiness for over 20 years and know its a law in some if not all states to disclose any kind of damage. This is what this company said to me about damage:

Touch up does not fall under "repair". category.

are you kidding me he or she is trying to treat this issue with a fine line!

Here is what happened to BMW:

There's a famous case out of Alabama, BMW v. Gore, that involved a repainted "new" car, in which the Supreme Court reversed state rulings upholding a $2 million punitive damages award arising from a claimed $4,000 (@<10%) reduction in value from the repainting of the car. In response to the case, BMW instituted a nationwide policy of full disclosure of all repairs, no matter how minor.

so do you really believe that just BMW follows this policy America!

He or she does, another email to me for you to see so that you can understand the mentality of this company:

Mine!? What are you going to do? Advertise to the internet community that I don't follow my policies, that I don't follow through? The only reason you know about our policy of not covering "minor" cosmetic scratches is because it is written in black and white on our website for ALL to read. If you decide you want to do business with us and get a GREAT DEAL (which thousands & thousands have and do) then guess what, we don't hide anything and you know exactly what to expect. But if you want to "inform" the internet community of our policies that we already fully disclose, then PLEASE go ahead. More free advertising for us.

Like I said he is proud he doesn't cover this damage!

Another email I want you to see:

Yes, if it is just minor scratches then it can be touched up with "touch up paint" - Just like the dealer does when they receive it before they put it out on the floor to sell to you, and nobody is the wiser, except that you are bypassing that dealer/middleman profit and markup ordering just like they do, wholesale/warehouse direct.

Please do yourself a favor don't do business with this company there are so many more out there that stand behind there products minor or major damage!

another email I want the public to see:

ABSOLUTELY 100% FALSE!!!! I have owned my own car dealerships. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DISCLOSE TOUCH UPS!!!!!!

Anyways, good luck with them. Obviously you didn't do your homework and read all of the bad reviews about them. Not sure why you even bothered to contact us if you didn't agree with our policies to begin with.

Good luck and good internet shopping!
