I ordered a sofa and when it was delivered the delivery men said they could not fit it through the door.
They never tried, just said it would not fit. Also said the back would not come off to take it apart. I had no choice but to send the item back to the company and refuse the sghiment. In the meantime while the delivery people were trying to think of a way to get it in, the sofa sat outside in the rain getting damaged.
The item went back to sofas and sectionals and I was told that I had to pay a restocking fee of 450.00 because I sent it back. First, I had no choice if they could not get the item in the house and would not even try, Second, I later found out that the back did come off this sofa from the manufactuer. The movers did not know ths or did not want to disasemble it. Had they done so, I would not have had to send back.
The company is now charging me at 450.00 re-stocking fee. First of all, the item was wet and damaged when it was returned, and there is no mention of any restocking fee on the sofaand sectonals website. I was told over the phone after the movers sent the item back that I had to pay this fee. I was never told before my purhase about a restock fee, it is not listed on their website and there is no percentage listed for any such fee.
I am not responsible for two movers who did not have the sense to remove the back of the recliner, I also am not responsible for the sofa getting wet and damaged and I certaintly should not be responsible for a re-stock fee thst is not posted in there return policies. How can you charge someone something without posting it on your website?
They are totally wrong and I would not recommend this company to anyone.
